It was a few long painful moments before Shenzi was able to finally push herself up. Feeling her weight, she just wanted to lie down again and let her meal digest, but she knew it wasn't safe, she had to get home.
Unfortunately, it took longer than Shenzi anticipated to get home, she wasn't very mobile at the best of times these days, and her tightly packed belly meant she now had to waddle to keep from disturbing it too much.
Finally though, Shenzi did get home, to greeted by Banzai, who asked, "Geez, where've you been Shenz', you look way bad." The matriarch mumbled something, before waddling unsteadily over to her spot, and almost falling down. Exhausted from the long drag home, and torpid from the already begun digestion, she was asleep in moments.
"Rrm," Shenzi murmured, waking the next morning. Someone was nudging her, but it took her a few more moments look over "B'nzai?"
"Good morning Shenzi," Banzai replied, "feeling okay?"
"Mm, yeah," Shenzi said, yawning, then rising, "bit heavier but fine otherwise."
"Good," Banzai said. He was silent for a few moments, then asked, "Where were you yesterday?"
"Um..." Shenzi replied, trying to decide whether to lie and keep her secret, or just tell the truth.
