"Hey Ed," Banzai said as he and his friend approached Shenzi's cave, "d'you think I've been a bit too hard on her about her weight?" In truth, he wasn't actually too bother about Shenzi's weight, but he was about her position, and by extension his own, and he knew that she could only maintain that position by being fit, which right now she most definitely wasn't.
Of course, all of Banzai's thoughts of making good with Shenzi vanished when he walked into her cave and found her in conversation, bordering on intimate, with another male, "Shenzi, who the hell is this?"
For a moment Shenzi froze, too terrified to move, before she managed to regain her composure and reply, "hello Banzai, meet Pendeza, he's a, friend."
"A friend," Banzai growled, immediately understanding the implication, "that was quick wasn't it, didn't take you long to find my replacement did it?"
"Did I say he replaced you," Shenzi asked, almost growling herself, "noo I didn't, and even if I did what does it matter, you were the one who walked out on me remember?"
Banzai didn't say anything to this, but instead assumed an attack posture, and let out a continuous growl that only tailed off when he saw Pendeza step in front of Shenzi to protect her, "get away from her."
"So that you can rip her apart," Pendeza growled in reply, "no."
"I'd never hurt Shenzi," Banzai snapped, "you I might just tear apart though."
"I'd lik..." Pendeza began.
"Enough," Shenzi yelled, interrupting them both, and drawing their attention to her. "Look," she said when she was sure she had their attention, "you're both great guys okay, I mean, Banzai you stuck with me through everything, and Pendeza, you're wonderful to be around, so can all just try to calm down and work something out, please?"
