You have to admit, you like your odds. What are the chances that Megan's actually going to lean towards you and try to leave the apartment? She may be looking in your direction, but she could do that for any number of reasons. All you really have to do is stand here, and Megan won't ever find out about your newfound invisibility.
Yeah, not so much. You're not that lucky. As you stand there holding your breath, your roommate, who has shown no signs of intellect whatsoever until this moment, decides to rely on her intuition to realize that something's amiss, and if she reaches out her arm she's going to find out what it is. She stabs out her appendage, and has the exact same reaction you'd expect from anyone else: she panics. When she touches someone that's not there, or at least doesn't appear to be, her mental faculties break down and she moves instantly into survival mode, which for a college-aged hottie like Megan mostly involves flailing and Fay Wray-style screeching. All for the best, you imagine, but actually she's pretty tough. She's got some potent punches in there. You wonder: should you even fight back? How on earth do you deal with being an invisible man who's just been discovered?
