You quickly rose out of bed as you heard a loud, ear popping growl coming from outside. Must have been some creature, whatever it was, it sounded big. You figured the smartest thing to do was to stay inside this shack.
"AHHHHHH! Someone help me!" That scream sounded familiar. That got your attention enough to see what was going on. You unlocked the door and walked out only to see Caitlin in the distance, running for her life. What was going on?
Out of nowhere you see a vine grow rapidly from the ground and wrap around her leg. You look in the other direction only to see a creature you never thought would exist. It appeared to be a plant, that looked mostly like a flower, but what it was you couldn't tell. "NO! GET AWAY!" she screamed. You ran to her aid, trying to figure out what to do.
The plant pulled her closer. Caitlin used all her strength to pull herself away. It was no match for the creature. The plant grew more vines, which grabbed fruit from a nearby tree and started shoving them into her mouth. She felt a rumble in her stomach knowing what was going to happen. "No, I don't want to get fatter!"
You ran up to the vine holding her and stomped on it as hard as you could. The creature screams in pain and releases her. You look back at Caitlin as she tries to get used to her 100 pound gain. You rush over and help her get to her feet. "Are you alright?"
"No," she said looking at her flabby gut, "I'm scared."
You tell her to run to the shack while you give her time to. She slowly runs in that direction as the plant creature goes after her again. You run as fast as you could to grab one of the vines. You squeeze it as it screeches in agony. It turns to you and releases a powdered dust that you inhaled. You pull the vine and punch the creature as hard as you could. You run back to the shack and made your way inside. You quickly locked the door behind you as you hear scratches and bangs from the door. You and Caitlin were now safe.
You kneel down and examine her ankle seeing that it was bruised from the attack. "Are you hurt?"
"It stings a bit, but I'll be okay." She looks again at her body. Her stomach looks even bigger since she's sitting down. "Besides, that the least of my worries."
"Yeah, that thing spit powder in my face. But nothing happened yet so I think I'm okay."
"Thank you for saving me Adam. I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life."
"No problem Caitlin," you said as you sat beside her. This seems like the island will be more adventurous than you thought. You tried to decide what to do next.
