Outside of the small accident with the loose cap, the rest of the packing of chemical is a fairly mundane process, with the time doing so being taken up by 'small talk' between teacher and student. Karen Cruz did take the time to wash off her skin where the chemical had touched, and examined the tube it had been spilled from.
Even though keeps herself in very good shape, and could easily be mistaken for 29, rather than the 39 she actually is, she still considers herself "an old lady" when around students more than two decades younger than herself.
