It was the usual lunch break, students filed in and ordered their meals while distributing themselves to their cliques. The preps at the back of the lunchroom, nerds off to some teacher's classroom for sanctuary, the jocks always parked themselves close to the lunch lines, and then there was Ludwig, whom always sat in the corner of the room.
Now first looks would tell you Ludwig was a loner, an introvert. For the most part you would be right. At this point it was slightly his fault. To fully understand, Rewind to his Freshman year. It was at an odd point in his Koopa life span that would ultimately turn him away from everyone. You see, koopa puberty is much like human puberty in that all organs develop and such and such. However Depending on genetics, koopa puberty is supposed to build the alpha male. Unfortunately the alpha male in koopa history was usually on the portly side. The bigger, the more power. So metabolism changes rapidly and appetite grows.
In one fateful summer Ludwig went from pretty thin, to portly and pudgy.
He was a bit of a laughing stock, the butt of many jokes for a good portion of that year. Changing in the PE locker rooms was a nightmare, with his bare soft flabby stomach out in the open for everyone to see . It didn't help that he would wolf down his meals and go back for not only seconds, but fifths at lunch. Everyone thought he was just letting himself go and he was just turning into a nasty slob.
three years later and while he managed to gain control of his appetite, and it had seemed he had plumped up for good. Fortunately for him he evened out with height and managed to hide a bit weight gain. Unfortunately for him, you can't fight nature, and if you try it will bite back hard.
