"Those pesky Mice better have invented something amazing, for them to have disrupted my beauty sleep!" grumbled Empress Dumbina, as she yawned, rubbing her eyes with her massive grey elephant hands.
Loud explosions and bright flashes of light had kept her up half the night. Though similar to thunder and lightning, it was somehow eerily different, and there was no doubt it had something to do with those crazy Mice scientists and their wacky experiments. There were times Dumbina considered squishing the whole lot of them under her feet, but they were just far too useful with the advanced technology they provided that was far beyond anything her species could ever produce.
Dumbina was the Matriarch of the Elephant empire, the largest and more powerful empire the world had ever known. She inherited the empire about 20 years earlier when her mother made the great journey to the ancient Elephant boneyard, where all Royal elephants go when their time has come. Being so large and powerful, it was almost unheard of for an Elephant to die from anything other than natural causes, so an Elephant always knew when their time was coming to an end, and they would make their way to the graveyard to die. Dumbina felt like she was on top of the world. She knew that her reign would last for many years to come. During the time of her reign, the Elephant empire has grown to become the largest in the world. She began to dream of total world conquest, and becoming the Matriarch of the entire planet. She had no doubt in her mind that one day this would become reality. She was wrong.
A loud rumble in her huge belly turned her attention away from thoughts of world domination towards the more immediate matter of breakfast. She rolled over on her side, expecting her feet to touch the floor of her royal bedchamber and then make her way to the dining hall just as she had done every morning... but something was strangely very wrong. Dumbina opened her eyes to find that her bed now stretched far and wide in a massive distance, as if her bed had been swapped with the bed of a giant. But... she was the largest giant in the world. How could this be?
"Guards! Servants!" Dumbina shouted. She then raised her trunk upwards and blasted it as loudly as she could, like the sound of a great Trumpet.
A few moments past, and then ground began to shake, and she heard the door of her bedchamber creak open, except the sound was magnified to an impossible level.
"Mi'lady? Is everything allright? I thought I heard you call out, but the sound was very faint..." boomed the voice of a massive form that poked its head inside of the door.
