Chapter #5

To Slip Up Or Not To Slip Up

    by: Ego-Man25 Author IconMail Icon
So Lisa and Flash moved over to a bench to talk. When sitting down, Lisa noticed how nice and comfortable the bench was.

"So..." Lisa said, "what made you and your mother decide to move here?"

Flash responded, "We were growing tired of our old town, which had a rough atmosphere to it, so we decided to instead move somewhere that was nicer, more peaceful."

"I bet you didn't expect to run into this place, huh?" Lisa asked.

Flash replied, "Nah, my mother was specifically looking for a place that was unlike any other place in the area, and a town full of extremely fat people certainly seems out there."

"That's interesting." Lisa said. She thought, What could draw people to intentionally move here?. She then remembered, "Wait, you said that your mother is starting to slip up. Since when did that happen?"

Flash paused for a minute, and said, "See, a few weeks ago, she was doing fine with her diet, you know, she resisted all the fatty foods out there. That is, until she went to one restaurant and someone offered a sample of their sausage. Curious, she tried it. From what she told me, the flavor was amazing, and she couldn't help herself, so she got one of the main meals there. She came home burping and with an extended belly, something that I'd never seen her have before. Again, that was 3 weeks ago. She's gained 40 pounds since then."

Lisa was shocked. "So, when you said slip up-"

"Yup." Flash replied.

"Wow..." Lisa said.

Flash then spoke up. "I was thinking about, and I came to the conclusion that I wanted to see what the food was like, you know, and what it was like to let yourself go."

Lisa said nothing.

Flash continued, "I mean everyone else is fat around me, so I figured, it's not a big deal if I put on a few pounds, is it?"

After a while, Lisa responded, "Well I'm not going to stop you, since I'm just a reporter and all." She then continued, "But are you sure you should do this, considering that you're a diabetic and all?"

Flash replied, "I've decided that how long I've lived doesn't really concern me that much. As long as I'm happy, I think I'm good to go:"

She then asked Lisa, "Actually, why not join me in this? I was just going to go to a restaurant right now, and it would be great to have company."

"Well..." Lisa said. She knew that putting on pounds in this job would be inevitable. Hell, she would have something of a personal i see scoop on how the process of joining South Barkalow worked. But that meant losing her trim figure she worked hard to keep. After a while, she said:

You have the following choices:

1. "Sounds like fun. Consider me in."

2. "Sorry... can't..."
