A toasty morning

Before Jason could react, his mother’s fingers wrapped around him and hovered him over the pan. Jason immediately started to struggle once he saw where she had him. He looked at his mother’s smile, afraid.

“Are you crazy? Put me down!” He yelled. As his mother smiled more, he suddenly wished he had chosen different words.

“You want down? All right.” She simply said and lowered him onto the pan, being careful not to burn herself. Once his bare skin came into contact with the metal, he started to scream. “It’s so nice of you to go along with my plan to make Kate the perfect breakfast. You’ll make a scrumptious little meal.” She said, ignoring his yelling.

“What about Heather? Does she know?”

“Yes, and she said she won’t mind. After all, this is for Kate’s birthday.” His mother tossed him in the air and flipped Jason over. The hot pan hurt even more now, and he knew he didn’t have much time before he was on a plate.

“What about me?” He yelled.

“All you need to worry about is satisfying your sister’s taste with that tiny body. You know I wonder, will she try and swallow you whole. . . Or bite your limbs off with the toast?” His mother stopped moving the pan to think about this. Jason tried to stand up with the strength he still had, but his mother hadn’t thought for long. She used a spatula to lift him off the pan and onto the toast. Although it was warm, it wasn’t nearly as bad as the pan. “Oh well, I guess we’ll soon find out.” She said pulling out a knife. Jason simply watched as his mother spread jelly on his body. He didn’t have much energy to move, and even if he did, his mother was right there.
