This choice: You capture Jean when she and her friends attempt to defend the bank. • Go Back...Chapter #4Mission Crisis by: Unknown As glass windows were shattered into a million shards the noise of the klaxons came on, a furious, high pitched wailing. Shots of burst fire hit the ceiling and commanding voices shouted orders to the bank customers. Walking over the bodies of frightened customers, the Legion of Terror made their way to the registers, whilst another team worked on blowing the safe open down below. Beyond the bank's crumbling walls and broken glass police were already en route to the crime scene. However, the Legion of Terror waited with courage, knowing that they controlled the street and could provide all the gunfire necessary to pin them down. Your job was keeping an eye on the Sentinel, whose main objective it appeared was in monitoring the Bank Job. If the Sentinel malfunctioned you were armed with an Arc Weave rifle, a portable Tesla claw, too disable the mechanical antagonist. Black Snetinel didn't seem to mind you standing behind him armed with the specialized rifle, though it was important to remember he wasn't a human and didn't fear death or at least fear it as openly as a human.
All seemed to be going according to plan, for once, when one of the men said: "I can't believe it! Everything seems to be going according to plan for once!"
The moment that followed the Anonymous Minion #1's that explosions were issued from outside. Radios became filled with Anonymous Minions yelling for back up. The X-Men came pouring through the bank entrance before we all knew it. Our Legionaries of Terror were quickly dispatched, although none of the X-Men had a closed jaw as they laid eyes on the great Mechanical Titan known so well to them as Mutant Killers. Black Sentinel didn't react however. He just stood there staring with his vaguely defined metal eyes into vaguely defined space. A bolt of fire and ice hit him in the side without any effect. Anonymous Minion #1 ran to the Sentinel and pleaded for him to help.
"Please, I'm begging you for help! Help us!"
"You..." replied Black Sentinel "...have violated the code of taboo by jinxing a successful mission. Second violation occurred when you failed to knock on wood. Prepare for civil judgment."
"Have mercy!"
"Mercy doesn't compute scumbag..." And Black Sentinel armed his plasma cannon, ready to execute the minion, when a desk flew into his arm. The plasma bolt struck the wall, incinerating the plaster-metal mixture. Jean flew into sight and the rest of the Mutants started closing in on you and Black Sentinel. The Titan robot grabbed the desk from the ground and tossed it into the crowd of adversaries. Rushing in behind the flying desk he cornered a lone mutant and grabbed him by the chest and pitched him into another mutant. Fire, ice, and psychic powers were useless against him. Physical attacks were reflected by the Sentinel's sleek metal surface. Jean Grey, leader of this mutant team turned her attention to you, the lone minion standing. Suddenly you were no longer in control of your body; paralysis. She flew up to you with a fierce grimace:
"How the hell did you get your hands on that thing?" She interrogated you. You didn't answer and she slapped you across the face. "Answer me!"
"I'm just a minion." You replied "We act on the information we're given. We know nothing."
"Gah, then tell me how to disable it"
Jean didn't know it but from behind her the Black Sentinel was walking towards her. The other mutants had been defeated and lay amongst your own allies. Black Sentinel struck her from the side with his fist and she went soaring across the air before she lost concentration and hit the ground. You too had been released of her psychic powers. Unconscious Jean was no longer a threat, but the Sentinel armed itself with Plasma Cannon and stood over her.
"Primary objective rewritten. Termination of mutants is priority. Long live Sentinel." Black Sentinel aimed the cannon at Jean.
"Stop!" You shouted. Sentinel didn't respond, the cannon charged, and only one option was available if she were to live.
Light filled the Bank as you hit the trigger and activated the Arc Weave rifle. It emitted a highly concentrated burst of electricity which surged across the air, ionizing the oxygen with its intensity and arcing through all things conductive. When you released the trigger the lights were off, electronics were shorted, ozone filled the air and Black Sentinel had just been crippled to the ground. Acting fast, you picked up Jean and exited the Bank. The cops were still incapacitated and no reinforcements had yet arrived. Taking one of your own vehicles you head off to a secret warehouse your old gang used to frequent.
