"She is your younger sister," Guinevere said, smiling. Tears were forming in her eyes as she looked at the child. Harold looked at his wife.
"So, she wants to keep this one to replace her," Harold thought of how before Jeffery was born, they had a baby girl. But unfortunately she was small and did not survive the harsh winter she was born into. And though she loved Jeffery, she always wanted a daughter of her own.
"Why does she look green?" Jeffery asked his parents touching the girl's scaly skin.
"She was born that way," Guinevere replied, "But beneath this, she is just like you and me. A perfectly normal person."
"Wow, may I hold her?" Jeffery asked, holding out his arms. Guinevere nodded and handed Jeffery the child. "So, you're just like me," Jeffery said, holding his sister. "Hey, her scales are gone!" Jeffery said, "They're going away."
Guinevere looked at Harold who looked back. "Is it her magic or just a natural part of her body?" they both wondered.
"So, what will we call her?" Guinevere asked Harold.
