The creature continued to cry and was about to stop its crys becoming weaker when another man came forward and saw the serpent in the water crying. The man walked out into the shallows of the water and stroked the creature softly making shushing sounds.
"Shh, shh, its ok little one," the man said stroking the creature gentally as he bent down to look it in the eyes. "Aren't you a little beauty he said softly. Where's your parents?"
The creature wailed again a leaned its head against the mans shoulder as it weeped. The man stroked the creatures neck gentally making his shushing sounds.
"Shh, shh, you poor little thing out here all alone," the man said softly patting the creatures head as it continued to sob, "Well it looks like you've just got yourself a new father."
The serpent looked at the man with tear filled eyes and the man smiled and said, "Yes I'm serious hop on little one."
The serpent wrapped itself around the man and nuzzeled him happily. The man laughed and stroked its head as he walked and spoke softly to it.
"Now what are we going to name you little one," the man said before smacking himself in the forehead, "Here I am thinking of naming you and I don't even know your gender."
