This particular story takes place in the third season, before the Invasion, more specifically, in between the 6th and 7th episode. (I say in between because obviously they don't put every day into an episode so, yeah).
"Hey, what's a matter Momo?" Aang asked, waking up. "Hey where's Sokka?" Aang asked Katara as she woke up.
"What do you mean, wait, he's not here!" she yelled. "Last night he went to get more wood, but he should have gotten back last night!"
"Toph! Get up!" Aang yelled.
"Wh-What!?" Toph replied, waking up.
"Sokka's been captured! We have to go save him!" Katara explained.
The gang got on Appa and flew into the sky, looking for Sokka.
