You hop into the pod there is a brilliant flash, you feel yourself being pulled from your doggy body to a body standing on two legs instead of 4. As the lights fad you look down and you see your new hands where you used to have paws. You have a flash of memories that are totally alien to you. You speak and say, "Oh my head." as your hands grab ahold of your aching head. You realize that you can speak and understand what you've said. You stumble out of the pod. Your old self a blue eyed husky mix comes trotting out of the other pod.
You bend down and pet your old body.
Your old body begins gesturing towards the pods and whining and climbs into one.
"I don't think so...... Spike," You say not knowing what to call the person who is now in your old body. The word Spike comes up into your memory as the label for that body.
You shake your head, you don't want to be a dog, not right now, you want to try out this body.
You look over and begin explaining to your old body, "You gave up being human when you switched with me. You must have done it to see what it was like to be a dog. Well I want to see what its like to be a human. The memories in this body are so strong they are actually wiping away my memories as a dog. Maybe your human memories are fading too. That would be perfect for both of us."
Your old body starts whimpering and barking at the pod.
At the control panel you begin shutting down all the power to the machine. As the person trapped in Spikes body realizes that the machine is shutting down they let off cross between a whimper, whine and crying. You turn off the lights and say, if you don't want to get trapped in here Spike you better get out here.
The dog jumps up to the control panel and looks at it. It look like who ever is in Spikes body is trying to read the labels on the switches to turn in back, but evidently all that information needed to read didn't tranfer with the mind swap or just isn't wired into their new doggy brain.
Spike begins making the whimper-crying noise as she walks out of the shed.
You in your new human body seal off the door so nobody can find it. You realize even though your human memories are taking over you still don't know who you are. You head towards the house. You see a puddle along the way and look into it. In the reflection you see.
