Chapter #5Itsy Bitsy Spider Man by: Lelouch It was a bright, sunny, and overall noisy day within New York City. The common traffic jams of the town's daily life filled the streets at every interval. Hundreds of feet above was a figure leaping through the skies, web ejecting from his hand onto buildings and swinging him forward. The hero had a slim build, a prominently red and blue spider themed suit. He was Spider Man, the hero of New York.
It was fairly obvious what or shall I say who he was after. Some new villain had just robbed a bank and well...it wasn't hard to find him. His costume like many of the jokes Spider Man went up against was poor at best, it resembled a childs attempt to recreate an atom in the form of a costume...which it essentially was. This poor fool was known as Molecular Man, or at least that's the name he gave Spider Man as he took off running.
"Geez where do these guys come from?" Spider Man asked himself, shaking his head midswing. Molecular Man had been causing trouble all over Manhattan, doing the usual stuff for crooks; terrorizing random people, stealing from banks, fighting the cops. How he did it though Spidy had to admit it was unique. Molecular Man would shrink things, apparently through some device built inside his joke of a suit's gloves. To mess with people he would shrink them and more often than naught leave them to fend for themselves; as a result some people have been found beneath people's shoes, killed by ants, or even enslaved by some demented person. This same shrinking power is what he used to rob banks; shrink the bank, get all the money from intimidating the now miniature denizens of it, and slipping it all into something like a small sack where he would return it to normal upon returning to his lair...or at least that was the only reasoning Spider Man could come up with for shrinking the bank at the get go.
It was annoyingly hard to get leads on him; always he would either shrink himself until he's all but gone from sight or shrink away any and all who come near him. Still Spider Man along with his alter ego Peter Parker managed to piece together where he would strike next and thus Spidy waited patiently. As expected Molecular Man came and well...things pretty much ended up as they were. With no time to shrink anything Molecular Man took off with a full sized sack of cash and Spider Man was hot on his heels.
The chase had been going on for about twenty minutes and frankly Spider Man was growing impatient. " I'll just end this with a classic." Still web swinging with his right hand Spidy aimed his left hand towards the crook, hand in position to shoot web. Placing his fingers on the trigger area a stream of web came from Spider Man's wrist and went directly towards Molecular Man. The poor inexperienced criminal got him and flew to the floor, the webs holding him in place and Spider Man leapt onto the ceiling and walked towards his spider web net trapped prisoner.
With each step Peter felt his spider senses tingling; meaning danger was on its way. "I'll have to be careful." The closer he got the more disturbing things seemed to become. With every passing moment Molecular Man was cackling, and it grew worse until eventually he actually had Green Goblin beat.
Spider Man held his ground though and proceeded, only stopping when he was a couple feet away from the small time criminal. "What's so funny? You get a look at your costume somehow?"
Molecular Man shook his head, "No, no no no. It's just amazing how foolish you are."
"You'd be surprised how often I hear that." Spidy replied wittily, not phased in the least.
Again the criminal chuckled, "But you missed such an obvious thing. This Web Net of yours...." Suddenly the crook pointed his left palm covered in a black glove at the hero. "HAS HOLES!!"
Spider Man had no time to react, using on the holes in the Web Net Molecular Man blasted his through the weapon installed into his glove. The blast made contact. Everything seemed to grow dim, dark until Spider Man collapsed on the concrete ground; the annoying cackling of Molecular Man ringing in his ears.
Peter awoke dazed, everything around him blurry. Instantly he recognized the feeling of ropes along his body, although to his captor it was likely string. He was on some kind of coffee table, facing a general direction inside someone's home. His eyes locked on movement and even in his blurred vision Spidy recognized the horrible costume of Molecular Man, apparently thinking he was still unconcious Molecular Man had begun to change out of his supervillain attire.
His vision began to clear and it was then that Spider Man realized something truly shocking..... | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
