Chapter #4Meet Raven by: chaos Robin stood up to see who was coming in. He was so grateful for the distraction; things were getting awkward very fast between him and Starfire. The alien girl was so much different then the more loose and playful girls he usually hung out with. As odd as it was, the orange skinned alien was more down to earth then the bolder girls of the Fat Justice League. With all of them, Robin knew were he stood, they were horny girls and he was a young stud who could give them what they wanted. With Starfire, he didn’t know what she wanted, but he was pretty sure it wasn’t sex. She seemed so innocent and Robin would bet money she was also a virgin. Virgins were the one thing Robin didn’t know how to deal with. Rampaging aliens were easy, mad scientists were a snap, out of control robots he could deal with, and hot to trot fat babes were his specialty, but virgins were the one thing he didn’t know how to handle. If he was lucky, the next member of his team would be sexually active or at least know how to deal with emotional situations like the one he was dealing with now.
“Hello,” a soft, monotone voice spoke up from the front door. Robin stared at a floating figure, hiding under a large cloak and cowl. Nothing could be seen of the person, but their coldly staring eyes. Robin wasn’t even sure if the person was male or female until they floated over to him and removed the cowl. Robin stared into the pale, emotionless face of the newest member. She had a cute face; Robin wondered idly how it would look once she gained some weight. She had no real distinguishing feature except a tiny jewel on her forehead.
Realizing that he had been staring, Robin put out his hand to greet his new teammate. “Hello yourself, my name’s Tim, but call me Robin. It’s a pleasure to meet you…” he trailed off, trying to entice the floating girl to give her name and she his hand. The pale girl simply brushed him aside, taking a seat beside a smiling Starfire before calmly saying, “Raven, just Raven.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Raven, I hope we can be good, good friends,” the ever sociable Starfire said as she opened her arms to hug her hopefully new friend. Raven took one look at wildly smiling alien and scooted over quickly before she could be wrapped in a hug.
“I don’t do touching,” she simply said to Starfire, whose happy expression immediately dropped. Moping like someone had kicked her puppy, Starfire crossed her arms over her chest, trying not to cry at the refusal of her hug. An uneasy silence settled in the room from the coldness Raven was showing. Robin stood there in thought, trying to think about how he could salvage this uncomfortable first meeting. Sitting down between the brooding girls he turned to Raven with a friendly, open smile.
“So Raven, mind telling us something else about yourself beyond your name? You seem to have some flying powers, are they natural or were you born with them?”
“None of your business,” was Raven’s instantaneous response. Robin frowned, most super heroes loved to talk about how they got their powers, but Raven seemed to go completely icy when he mentioned it, not that she was acting too warm before.
“Okay, forget about how you got your powers, how about the reason you want to use them to fight crime? Personally, I feel like it’s my duty because I grew up in Gotham city, where crime was everywhere. I wanted to make my city safer, and now that I’ve done that, I want to do the same here.”
“My reasons are my own,” Raven said without any emotion at all in her voice. She looked at Robin, clearly bored by everything that was going on. “If you’re done, could you tell me where I’ll be staying. I got some unpacking to do.”
“No!” Robin shouted heatedly. He was getting frustrated with this, he was trying his best to be nice, get to know her, and even not trying to flirt, but he was being brushed aside rudely. He wanted to turn his new team into a shinning beckon of light and justice like the Fat Justice League, but how could he do that when his teammates couldn’t stand to be in the same room with each other?
In the spur of the moment, he grabbed Raven firmly by the shoulders and pulled her close to his face so she couldn’t ignore him. “Listen Raven, we’re a team now, you can’t act like you’re the only person in the room. We’re going to be risking our lives everyday protecting this city and I need to know I can trust you to watch my back. Just try to open up, no one here is your enemy.”
“I told you, I don’t do touching,” Raven said with more emotion then she had shown since arriving. Robin blinked, unsure of what to say, but he didn’t get a chance because Raven moved forward quickly, trapping Robin in a kiss. Starfire gasped as she saw her new friends kissing, only unlike her kiss with Robin, Raven’s kiss was much more forceful and intense. Raven pushed her lips against Robin’s, pushing her tongue into his mouth and pressing it against his own. As the kiss continued, Raven clasped her arms around his neck, tilting her head to the side to allow the kiss to deepen further. Robin returned the kiss the best he could, but he was so caught off guard he couldn’t keep up. What had happened to the cold and rude girl he had been talking to a few seconds ago? Raven started grinding her torso against Robin’s chest. Robin could feel her hardened nipples rub against his chiseled physique. Robin was finally getting into it when the light bulb above their heads shattered. The sound of the light bulb breaking snapped Raven out of it and she instantly pushed Robin away. Her pale face turned crimson red as she lifted up her cloak to clean the mixed saliva from her lips.
“I told you, I don’t do touching,” Raven repeated to the astonished faces of Starfire and Robin. Sighing loudly, Raven realized she just couldn’t pretend what had happened never happened. She was going to have to do the one thing she hated most, explain. “I’m sorry for kissing you, okay. Monks in another dimension raised me, teaching me how to control my powers. I was all alone, never knowing anyone, but the monks who weren’t the most sociable. All that time cooped up has left me a little… emotionally unstable. I’m not good around people and when a cute boy comes near me, I can’t really control myself.”
“So you think I’m cute?” Robin joked, getting a blank stare from Raven.
“Raven that is so sad,” Starfire gushed. “To be all alone must have been very not enjoyable. You need friends, so therefore, I will be your friend Starfire and you will be my friend Raven!” The excited alien smiled cheerfully and prepared to try for another hug, but one glare from Raven made her back down.
“Starfire’s right, you need friends if you’re going to get reintroduced into society. You can count me as a friend too,” Robin boasted confidently. He always had a soft spot for loners who wear black. Raven was unaccustomed to living with other people, so he’d help her. Besides, that kiss had been awesome, maybe he they could try it again once they got better equated.
Raven stared between the two friendly faces, unable to think of anything to say. She had never had a friend before, the monks had been her tutors, never speaking to her unless to teach. If Raven hadn’t had a firm grip on her emotions, she might have cried. Quietly, she summed up what she was feeling in two words. “Thank you.”
