Blaze stopped rubbing her enormous belly for a moment. Everything had stopped. Blaze blinked. What was going on? It looked like the world was frozen. Everything had literally stopped moving. The clock on the wall in her kitchen was stopped. The TV in her living room was stuck, the image of a news anchor standing in front of an airport permanently pasted on the screen. Even Marine was frozen. She was stuck in a most peculiar pose, as she appeared to be petting the air. Blaze, it seemed, was the only one who could move at all. How curious.
Blaze's eyes widened. What was that? she thought. Her gaze circled the room once more. I could have sworn I heard something... There were so many questions going through her mind at once. What was going on? Why did everything just stop? Did it have something to do with the Chaos Emeralds? And why was she not affected? And if everything was frozen...what was she hearing?
Blaze tried her best to turn around quickly. "Who's there?" She eventually managed to turn all the way around, but the process was a lot harder now that her belly was the equivalent of a giant water balloon. Blaze's cheeks turned crimson. "I detest that water balloon remark!"
Oh...so you can hear me. Curious.
"Curious, indeed," Blaze said as she looked up at the ceiling. "Where are you? Who are you?"
I am the narrator. I'm also the author of this story.
"Narrator? Author? My life is not a novel!"
It's not. It's actually kind of a short story.
Blaze rolled her eyes. "Regardless," she said with a slight hint of annoyance in her voice, "What in the name of the Sol Emeralds is going on? Where are you?"
Well, since I'm the author, I exist outside of the story. The fact that you can even hear what I'm writing astounds me.
"Astounding or not, it doesn't explain why everything is frozen!" She gestured to the rest of the house, her huge belly sloshing slightly. Blaze's face turned an even darker hue of red. "And why you insist on mentioning the size of my..." she hesitated to say it, "Belly."
Well, that's what this story is about!
Blaze's face turned to its normal colors instantly. She eyed the ceiling with a mix of hate and curiosity. "What do you mean?"
That is literally the whole point of the story. Your belly gets filled with liquid. For other's enjoyment. And my enjoyment.
Blaze's face became crimson once more. "You...you...enjoy this?" she asked, exasperated.
Well...yes! Why else would I be writing this? But, to answer your other question, the reason everything is stopped is because I'm rewriting the story.
Blaze's blushing faded once more. "Rewrite?"
Yes. The chapter before this was written by someone else. It was very...fast. Your friend Marine simply walked in, put your garden hose in your mouth and filled up your belly with water.
Blaze looked down. She remembered. It did happen rather quickly. "Why would she do that?" she muttered. "To me, of all people?"
It was simply on the whim of the previous author. I can't help you there. But, I am rewriting the story. That will change everything. It will also put you in the right setting. I mean seriously, you don't have just any old house. Last I checked, you lived in a castle!
Blaze nodded. He was right. Since when did she have a house? Was she even in the Sol Dimension here? "What you say is true. But, I do question your intentions. Why are you rewriting this so-called story that is my most interesting life? If you rewrite this story, what will happen?"
It will reset everything. The point of the story will still be you getting blown up like a water balloon. However, the new text will have a riveting plot behind it, it will be in the right setting, and it will also include several other characters. Not just you and Marine. Her intentions will be clear, and her method of inflating you will be more believable.
"...I still resent you calling me a water balloon, Mr. Narrator, but..." she rubbed her plush purple belly, "You are right. It does feel like a water balloon."
I apologize if I insulted you in any fashion. And, if I may say so, you and your big belly are simply gorgeous.
Blaze blushed again. "You find this...beautiful?"
Of course. Like I said before, why else would I be here?
"I suppose you're right," she said. "Still though. All of this doesn't explain how I'm the only one not frozen. If the story's about to be rewritten, why am I not frozen like Marine?"
I don't really know. I suppose it gave me a chance to talk to you before I reset your timeline. Perhaps your connection to the Sol Emeralds forbade me to change your story without permission.
"Perhaps."
If I may, princess, can I ask you for your permission to rewrite this story? To restart what has already been written?
"Hm...only if you stop calling my belly a water balloon!"
I can't guarantee that, princess. Besides, how would you ever know? Once I reset the timeline, you won't remember any of this. And, you won't be able to hear me while I'm narrating.
"I sure hope so. I've been called a walking water balloon enough times today!"
Like I said, princess. It is so beautiful. You needn't be ashamed.
Blaze blushed for the last time. "Really?" she asked shyly.
Sure! It looks absolutely marvelous.
Blaze's complexion reddened even more. "Well, if you say so..."
Please, my dear, will you let me change everything? Reset the timeline?
Blaze hesitated a moment. Then she smiled. "Sure, why ever not? After all, there's no real point in staying in a frozen world, now is there?"
I suppose not. Before I do, though...
"What?"
Would you...show me everything?
"What do you mean?"
Your body, my dear. Can you show me what your big belly looks like on your bare body? It would make for a...shall we say, stimulating read.
Blaze's mouth dropped open, her face somehow becoming even redder than before. "Wha...what? You want me to...to take off my clothes?"
The world is frozen. Who would possibly see you other than me? Besides, I can't even see you. I can only describe you. Your body is poetry just waiting to be written, my dear! Oh, I can only imagine it! But...if you would show me, before I leave and change this world forever...perhaps I wouldn't have to imagine it.
