The view of the pumpkiny orange moon hanging low and plump over the ocean was almost hypnotizing and Celeste never had been able to ignore the sound of the waves lapping hungrily at the sugar sand.
With a silky laugh she raced ahead of Jesse down the beach,kicking off her sandals as she ran,then she yanked off her shirt and shimmied out of her tight short shorts..not an easy task when in motion,leaving her clothing where they fell,finally her tiny scraps of lace bra and panties joined the discarded items on the soft white sand mere seconds before arms circled her from behind and she felt her feet leave the ground.
"Put me down Jesse...No..don't you dare!"She yelped between giggles as her captor carried her into the surf in his strong arms,his chest warm and solid at her back and his hands cupping her lower cheeks.
She twisted her head to peer up into his sparkling silver eyes and a screech left her throat when a huge wave crashed over them,toppling them into the warmth of the oceans caressing depths.
Celeste came up spewing water from her mouth and the gleam of moonlight illuminating her water slickened hair and she turned in a circle,searching for Jesse.
At first the tingling that had settled in her long legs didn't bother her,she figured it was just the shock of the sand swirling around them,but soon the tingling had become a warm throbbing that made her frown slightly as she tread water,still looking for her errant boyfriend,then she scowled deeply because it felt like her legs had suddenly melded together and she twisted,trying to bring one of them up into view.
"Holy ----"The word trailed off as her legs came up out of the water and she blinked rapidly,surely she was seeing things for her legs looked to be covered in shimmering pinkish yellow scales now and her feet no longer existed,instead a finned tail graced the end of her limbs,which were definately more one now than two.
"Celeste!"Jesse's frantic voice snapped her out of her dream state and she let her legs.tail,whatever..submerge back into the water as she turned to watch him strike out toward her with sure strokes of his arms.
"Please,Jesse..I'm okay.."She babbled in a voice that she hoped sounded less shaky than what it sounded to her."I just...I want to swim for a while."
"Come on baby,This isn't funny."He scolded sharply when she began to ease herself backwards away from him so he couldn't touch her."We have to go,Everyones going to leave us."
"I'll catch a cab home."She breathed but his scowl had her treading water again."I love you but I want to be alone for a while,Please..."
She needed to think and she couldn't do that with him watching her like she'd grown a second head.
