"You know Steve...", you say. "Their is something I should tell you." You and Steve both stop walking. Steve turns his head towards you, looking at you. You feel down about what he did, but don't just give in. You look up, face him. Looking directly into his eyes. Then, his face goes red and tries to avoid you looking at him. He says nervously: "So Dawn, what's up.".
You: "Steve... I have known you for some time now. I know you as a friend, but since you are always there for me you seem more to me now. I just want you to know that, that I..."
Steve's head turns really red and he makes this weird face. He looks like he is about to burst out. Then he stuns. You sigh and look down, knowing he isn't listening. Whatever he is thinking right now, it doesn't seem to bother you as much as it does to you. Still, you continue to tell him.
You: "Look, Steve. I can't believe you..."
Steve quickly interrupts shouting: "YES, I love you too! Oh, I'm so sorry to have kept this from you for such a long time, but I just cannot help myself.Oh, I love you, I want you."
You: "... lied? What?!"
Steve: "Uh... Oh, sorry I was just mumbling in myself, ha ha ha..."
Steve has an embarrassed face. His hand is behind his head and he looks really nervous. The sweat is coming from his face. He hopes probably you didn't heard him, but you heard. So your thoughts are true. He just lied to you to spend time with Dawn. Idiot. You try not to get mad, but it is going to be hard. Steve says: "Sorry to interrupt you, I... ate to much sugar. ha ha ha"
You: "... Right. Well, what I said. I cannot believe you lied to Ian. You are his best friend. He trusts you, how can you do that to him?"
Steve: "What? he... how did you know I..."
You: "Why? Why did you do it?"
Steve: "Okay! Look, I just want to spend some time with you, you see. Being me you makes me so... happy. I just want to help a friend out."
You: "I can do things on my own. Your best friend needs you."
Steve: "I know... Dawn, I'm sorry. I... I let my feelings for you run over my friendship with Ian. Oh, god... what do I have to do? How can I make up?"
You: "What...? never mind. Look, Steve. You have to tell the truth. I'm sure Ian would understand, but only if you tell him."
Steve: "But... I know he loves you as much as I love you. I mean... oh... great."
You: "So you saw this as a DATE! I don't think I can forgive you. I wanted to tell you how I felt about our friendship, but you just used it to get a girl."
Steve: "I'm sorry. Look, I cannot help it. You're just to cute, beautiful and nice. It just isn't fair. I know I don't deserve you. Ian does. I... wanted at first to help him, but..."
You: "Fine... I'll forgive you... Just, stop already."
Steve: "Really? Okay, I'll promise to be a better friend. I love you! I mean... not in the way of love, but in the way of having a friend like a sister, or nah.. it's to complicated. I just like you as a friend. Leave it to that."
You: "Right..."
Steve: "Dawn, I'm sorry... But I have a friend to help. I got to go."
You: "Thanks... I mean, okay."
Steve: "I'll meet you in Hearthome City, with Ian. Okay. Bye!"
You: "Bye."
You cannot believe it. He let this cute face, which you now have, in the forest alone just for you. It is either to impress Dawn or he really meant what he said. You feel lucky either way to have him as a friend. Even if he is such a bastard sometimes. You look at him and see him disappear in the forest.
