Chapter #5

The old bridge

by: evil dude Author IconMail Icon
The path they walked upon was indeed small and hard to see,not to mention choked by thorns, weeds, and a few low hanging branches. If not for Calib(who they prayed knew was he was doing)and his flashlight, they would have gotten lost as soon as they entered this chilling place."So, where are your parents?"asked Brian from the back of their little hiking group."They left about half an hour ago to see a movie at the drive-in outside of town. They won't be back for at least a few hours."said Calib from the front."Wonderful..."Lucy mumbled to herself as they walked through some more weeds. After about fifteen minutes they came to a small creek that twisted through the forest like a snake. It was only about thirty feet across, but at least several miles long. The fact that it flowed about four feet under a decaying wooded bridge did'nt help them feel better about crossing it.Calib did'nt seem too scared though,as he simply kept up his walking pace as he made his way across the bridge,he did'nt even stop once until he reached the otherside."Hurry up,you slowpokes!" he called from the otherside of the creek"Don't tell me you're getting scared now,we're almost there!"Brian, who was not about to let himself be called chicken, raced across the bridge even faster the Calib had."Okay girls."they called"You're up next!"Lucy really wasn't sure if this was such a good idea anymore, but she had come this far,and she wanted to see this through to the end."Alright, here I come!" she called as she steped onto the bridge. It took her a little longer to get to the otherside, but she made it just the same. Finally there was Heather, who seemed to be really skeptical about crossing the bridge herself. The others started calling to her, telling her to hurry up and not to be scared.Nervously she put her foot on the bridge,it creaked, but held her up just fine. She slowly started to make her way across.

You have the following choices:

1. She makes it across

*Noteb*
2. She panics

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
