Activate auxiliary power and direct to shields!

“Engage auxiliary power”, you yell. “And direct the spare capacity to the shields!”

You see the auxiliary power light blink on, on your console.

“Shields at fifteen percent”, Buck yells again. “Shields at twenty percent and climbing...shields stabilizing at thirty percent...”

On your console, you can see the shields sucking the power from the auxiliary source. The power levels are dropping rapidly.

“Auxiliary power depleted”, Buck yells. “Shields at twenty five percent and dropping.”

“SHIT!” you scream with frustration.

“Warning, warning”, the computer announces, “shields are failing; hull pressure at one-hundred-and-twenty percent capacity.”

You realize that you’re going to die. It’s over...

“Emerging from Houston-Knox field”, the computer announces. The ship stops shaking. “Arrival at Procol-Kilia”, the computer says again.

You see a red and black lava encrusted planet appear in front of you.

“Holy shit”, you exclaim, happy to be alive.

Small electrical fires sparkle all over the cockpit. You look around at the crew. Spencer is suffering from a bleeding head wound. The rest of the crew seems dazed and confused, except for the Orion Commando named Spengler.

“That was a helluva ride”, he says with a crooked smile.

“Officer Cook”, you say to the medical officer, “tend to Spencer’s head wound. Buck, run a diagnostics check on the ship.”

As Stephanie Cook runs over to Malcolm Spencer, the computer starts giving feedback on the ship’s condition:
“Stealth system – damaged and deactivated;
Engines functional at forty percent capacity;
Shields – damaged and deactivated;
Auxiliary power – zero percent remaining;
Ship’s hull – two hairline fractures incurred, functional at fifty percent capacity;
Avionics – functional at fifty percent capacity, navigation accuracy compromised;
Primary power source – functional at twenty percent capacity;
Weapons systems – non functional due to power shortage.”

“Well, at least we’re alive”, you say. “Buck, request permission to land. We’ll reassess on landing-pad and decide what to do next.”
