"Azula... I won't humiliate Mai for you." Ty Lee answered gently, hopping that she wouldn't start Azula on one of her violent out bursts.
"I figured as much." Azula spat back, her voice slightly muffled by the muzzle over her mouth. "You say you want to help me and that you will do anything for me, but then when it comes to something as simple as humiliating that traitor, Mai you go back on your word. Just like at the Boiling Rock."
"Thats not it all."
"Thats all it can be!" Screamed Azula as she flew into a rage. "You're not here to help me! You just want to mock me with false promises, only to take them away! Well, it won't work! So go back to your "friends" and tell them that the monster saw through their little game and that they are fools to think that they could fool me!"
"I'm not going to humiliate Mai because of my loyalty to you. I won't play into your delusions of entitlement and injustice. You need to stop thinking that you deserve everything you wanted! Thats not how the world works and only be accepting this are you going to get better!"
"Gerrrraaa!" Yelled Azula as she tried to launch herself at Ty Lee, but was held back by the chains that strapped her to the chair. So instead Azula flew into a tantrum like a wounded beast with a leg caught in a trap. Ty Lee even saw flashes of blue flames beneath her muzzle as she attempted to breath fire, burning her own mouth in the process.
And as she watched Azula cry and moan and scream and rave, Ty Lee was shocked to the point of tears to see how her Azula had gone from a brilliant, logical, and sensible princess to a raving lunatic, broken and locked away. Soon Azula had tired herself out and all she could do was lay her head on the table and sob, and Ty Lee, still upset by her display of madness and pain, walked over and placed Azula's head in her lap as she sat on the table and stroke her princess's face.
"It's Ok Azula. I'm here." Cooed Ty Lee as she tried to comfort the insane Azula. "And I promise not to leave you again."
Her promise not leave was not so much directed at Azula, since Ty Lee doubted that she could hear anything she was saying any more, and more to herself. She knew that it was big commitment and that she would have to post pone her own plans to train with the keoshy warriors and rejoining the circus, but after seeing the pain Azula was in she just couldn't leave friend behind in this place.
So when the guards came to carry Azula back to her cell, Ty Lee demanded that on grounds that she was a lady of high standing and the person friend of both the Fire Lord and the Fire Queen that they let her spend the night by Azula's side even if she had to sleep next to the bars.
