She manages to stay on her feet as the hand tries to drag her into the water.
She tries hitting it, scratching it, and a few other things, but it just won't let go. She then gets an idea, grabbing a rock, she repeatedly hits the hand, over and over.

It finally releases her, and she scrambles away.
