This choice: Before you go downstairs, you get The Power Of Fire! • Go Back... Kody heard his mother doing the supper dishes. It was the perfect moment to tell her what happened to him that evening. But... What if she became scared? He knew that it could be shocking to see your son as an ice superboy. But he had no choice, his mother had to know the truth.
Before he went downstairs, he decided to admire himself a bit more. He opened his wardrobe, that had a mirror at the back of the door and smiled. It was the first time that he saw his own ice-face, because at Eddy's bedroom there was not any mirror. He looked at his bald head. It was not so bad after all! looked at his new eyes. He had no pupils nor corneas. He even didn't know that he didn't have eyelids!
Then he started to some superhero poses! He smiled. "I'm Frozen Boy, the superhero kid!" he said laughing. He loved to see his new ice-body.
But while he was staring at himself, he started to feel the strange tingling all throughtout his body again.
"Oh no! I'm going to lose my powers now!? No, please!" he thought as he felt dizzier.
He tried to open his eyes, and when he saw himself reflected on the mirror he stared astonished.
He wasn't the ice-boy anymore... Now he was made of fire!
"What?" he exclaimed even knowing that he was alone in his room.
All his skin was red-hot. All his body was giving off flames and smoke. There was no doubt: now he had the power of fire. He knew that he could shoot fireballs with his hands, burn anything he wanted, absorb any fire around him... He felt great! He smiled again. His eyes and mouth were now bright yellow. His briefs were not made of ice anymore. But fortunately they were red originally, so they disguised very well in his red-hot body.
But then he became serious again. He closed the wardrobe and went downstairs. He was a bit scared at first because he thought he could start a fire by simply walking on the floor, but then he noticed that his flames were not burning the parquet. Finally, he arrived to the kitchen.
"Mom..." he said scared, "I must tell you something..."
"Oh, Kody! You were upstairs? I thought you were at Eddy's home." she said before turning.
"Mom..." Kody said when his mother already saw him.
Kody's mother stayed amazed for some seconds then smiled.
"So... You finally got your superpowers!" she said looking at the flame boy.
"What!? Did you already know this, mom!?" Kody asked.
"Of course...! We must talk, son." she said.
Then she explained why Kody was suffering those changes. His father was an alien, and he even more superpowers than his own father. She didn't know when Kody was going to be able to use them, so she never told him anything about it. Kody felt sad at first, but then he understood that he was now the heir of his father and he had to use his superpowers to save the world.
After some chatting, Kody's mother asked him about what happened that evening and if Eddy knew something about it.
"Sorry mom. But I suffered the transformation when I was on Eddy's home. I couldn't stop it." Kody said sadly. His mother then approached and gave him a hug. Kody became scared, he thought that his mother could burn herself. But she knew that there wasn't any danger.
"Don't worry about it, Kody! You must share your secret with your best friends, they must know the truth. But please, try to hide your superpowers to the rest of people, okay?"
"Okay mom!" Kody grinned. "Well... Can I show myself as Frozenboy and Flameboy, right?"
"Yes. But never reveal your real identity!" she said. "So... You got the power of ice and the power of fire... You must know that you will get more powers from now on, so be prepared."
"More powers? Cool! I can't wait to show them to Eddy and Alex!" the burning boy said.
"Go and show them your burning body now if you want. I must still finish your favourite dessert. But can you show me your ice form before that?"
"Of course!" Kody said.
He switched to his ice form easily now that he knew that he could do that. Kody's mother stared at him.
"You are bald like your father was when he was on his ice form." she said.
"I don't mind. In fact, I like being like this."
"You are so cute, my ice boy!" she said rubbing his head.
"Awww... Mom! I'm not a little boy anymore!" he said laughing and switched again to his fire form.
"Okay mom. I'll come back on some minutes." he said and started walking to the door.
"By the way... Why are you walking? Do you know that you can FLY at superspeed while you are in your fire form?" she said when he saw his kid walking.
"Really?" he said amazed. "Cool!"
Kody left a red blur in the kitchen and disappeared almost instantly.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
