Chapter #4Telekinesis by: Unknown Putting the seeing through walls incident out of his mind, Kody got dressed and left the house. When he got to his friend's, not far away considering it was next door, he was hardly thinking of the incident. Eddy invited him in with much joking and laughing between the two. Video games occupied little of their time that day for it was sunny and warm as a late spring day should be. So within an hour's time they grabbed their skateboards and were off to the park.
As they skated there and talked about various things, Kody's head began to hurt. He tried to ignore it and focus on what Eddy was saying and their skating, but the pain soon became almost unbearable. So much in fact that he actually lost his footing and tumbled to the ground. As suddenly as it had began, it left and Kody looked around to see himself laying on the ground with his skateboard on the grass of someone's lawn just beside the sidewalk. "Are you okay?" Eddy asked.
"I'm fine, what happened? I just had this mega headache, but it went away like, just after it came."
"It looked bad. you just sort of toppled over."
"I said I'm fine. Come on, I wanna see if you can grind those rails yet."
Enthusiasm restored and the headache being put aside, the two boys were soon at the skatepark and performing their various tricks for the judgement and ridicule of each other. Being the slightly less skilled, Eddy always made extra sure he could rub in any mistakes his friend made, jokingly of course. Eddy's attempts at grinding were better, but he wasn't very good at ending them and that was when he would fall. On the actual park he wasstill trying to do something that involved being in the air, anything at all would be good if he could master it.
That was when wierdness event number three happened for Kody. His friend seemed to be getting the hang of it. He was up in the air and then on the ground again. Then he was doing a number of random things in the air, not really tricks, but at least he was doing something. Then Eddy actually tried to do a trick and to Kody it was as if in slow-motion. There was his friend, in the air, trying to flip the skateboard while moving, but he ended up kicking it away by accident and it crashed to the ground across the park. He hung there in mid-air for a second and then he was falling, his arms flailing and it was a height enough that something would probably be broken. Kody kept thinking of trying to stop the fall if he could to prevent injury to his friend. Then, to his surprise, his friend stopped. Just for a couple seconds and inches from the ground his friend stopped and hovered before landing on the ground much more lightly then he would've done.
Kody's head felt weird now. It was like something new had started working in his brain and he couldn't explain what. He saw his friend stop in mid-air before landing and Eddy came over and noted the event as well. "That was so weird. I just stopped, did you see?"
"Y-yeah. I think... I think I might've done that?" Kody said carefully.
"How?"
"I dunno, but I just wanted to stop you from falling and then you did."
"What so... moving things with your mind?"
"Maybe," Kody said. He looked over at his friend's skateboard and thought about moving it in the air. It suddenly floated into the air and with another thought it moved towards them. His friend watched with awe and nervously looked around and saw that there wasn't anybody else nearby who would see. Kody set the skateboard down in front of Eddy and looked up nervously. The two exchanged looks and finally burst into laughter.
"That's cool!" Eddy said.
"Tell me about it! Maybe I'm just like a superhero or something."
"Like Superman, only cool."
"Yeah, he sucks so much it's sad."
Kody grinned. "And I am sooo showing this off. Think about it, why is there any reason to hide it? I could be famous I bet."
"Might get put under tests or something."
"Meh, not a big deal. They're not allowed to be cruel. Let's go, I so have to talk to mom about this." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
