Crash! With a well aimed Fira spell you manage to knock the T-Rexuar's head into one of the trees that littered the training facility of Balamb Garden. The mighty beast roars in pain and then slumps to the ground, affording you, finally, the chance to take a breather. You'd been slaying monsters for about an hour now and you were working up a bit of a sweat.
Your hand comes up to mop your damp brow as you slump against the still warm corpse of your kill. Taking a deep breath you find your centre once more. Thoughts consume you, thoughts of passing your combat exam the next day, you were anxious at the prospect but Instructor Quistis Trepe was your examiner, and she was said to be quite lenient.
You're brought from your concentration by a high pitched hiss and a scream, it seems in your resting you had neglected to noticed the plant-like Grat creature a mere 2 feet away from you. It apparently didn't like you encroaching on it's territory. Before you can pick up your weapon, however, it shoots a cloud of blue spores at your face, causing you to choke and splutter as you gasp for air.
Your vision grows fuzzy and eventually dim as you pass out.
Waking up you feel like you'd been drinking heavily all day, your vision was blurry and you were groggy. The cloud of confusion is soon lifted though and you gaze around at your surroundings. Your hand is resting on a large metal structure, looking up the length of it you gasp and recoil in horror. It was your sword, but it was as big as a skyscraper.
As the situation starts to sink in you hear, and feel, a titanic rumbling in the ground beneath you. You prepare yourself to fight another towering T-rexuar but as you turn round you see that a dinosaur is not the source of the ominous rumblings. Gazing up you see a field of yellow fabric, looking straight ahead you see two massive brown suede boots, ones that were heading ever closer towards you. You know this outfit, it was that energetic busybody, Selphie Tilmit.
She stops for a few seconds looking around, her last titanic footfall knocking you over with the sheer force of the quake it caused. You had to act fast, how best to get her attention?
