"Uhhnn...."
Orihime Inoue sat up from her previous position of laying flat on her back, her forehead throbbing slightly and a terrible feeling aching in the pit of her stomach. She groggily stood up, swaying back and forth on her heels as if in a drunken daze."Ow...."She clutched her stomach in pain, holding back the urge to yelp at the adominable soreness."Ooh...wow....what...what happened?"She said to herself, trying to open her eyes and force away the shadows that clung to the corners of her vision. It was blurry, but it seemed she was in a desert of some sort...
You conked yourself out. Kinda hard to believe, considering how hard your head is."
The ditzy teen jumped at the voice, and not at the fact at how sudden it was, but at how loud the voice was. It was as if the voice was amplified through a dozen megaphones, then converted to an entire thunderstorm roiling through the sky.
Now fully aware and awake, the voice acting as a strong jumpstart, Orihime looked around for the source of the voice, no sign of any other being except for herself."God...? Is that you...?"This was the only conclusion her childish mind could come up with at the moment. The voice giggled, a series of laughter punctuated with thunderclaps."No, I'm not God, you little airhead. But to you, I could be a deity...."
"......I'm confused."Orihime simply stated.
Another chuckle from the voice, and as she listened, Orihime began to figure that it had a slightly feminine undertone in the deep bass boom."Okay, I suppose I should try to shed some light on the situation for you. Look around, where are you right now?"
"A desert."
"No...look closer."
"Okay..."Orihime looked around, trying to pay closer attention to her surroundings. The concentration sorta hurt her head. But as she examined the area, she began to notice that this world was not a desert. The ground was not made of sand, but of some strange soft material that oddly imitated human skin. The air wasn't deadly dry, but comfortably mild. And their was no blistering sun overhead to scorch her, but a strange orb with a white outline, a colored inside, and a black center that reminded Orihime of an iris. But, it couldn't be. That was just plain silly, a scenario Orihime's silly imagination would've come up with. Others had told her that her overactive imagination would lead her away from what was important one day, but she loved it. Now, this was reality, not her imagination though. There must've been something logical to explain everything.
"What do you see?"The voice followed up her question with another.
"Well, I'm not in a desert.....too skinlike for that. And there's no sun or moon in the sky, but a giant eyeball."
"Good!"The voice congratulated her."Now, I'll give you a more. About thirty minutes ago, you were in your home, yes...?"
It came back to her. She was enjoying dinner with a friend, but she couldn't exactly remember which friend it was...
"Yeah..."
"You ate something strange, drank something weird, which explains the stomach pains and headache."
"But how...how did you know....?"
"Cause..."The voice sounded reluctant with a tad hint of guilt mixed in the words."I caused it."
"......I'm still confused."
"You accidentally ate some....special rice and sake I brought with me. You weren't supposed to eat it. I was supposed to bring it to the Soul Society for testing, but I must've put it on our dinner table....Sorry..."
"Who....who are you?"
"............."
