This choice: More cousins emerge from the SUV • Go Back...Chapter #5More cousins emerge from the SUV by: Michelle Next, twin 5 year old girls climbed out of the car wearing matching Easter dresses. Debbie explained to Doug and Jessica, "Those cuties are Mathew and Markus. We call them Maddie and Molly when they're like this. They are sooooo much better behaved when they are girls. It was a relief not to listen to twin boys farting and making burp sounds the entire drive."
Jessica cooed at their outfits saying, "Awww. Those dresses are adorable. I love your pretty bows in your hair too." The twins smiled and twirled their dresses around giggling. Jessica suggested, "Sophia is going to be thrilled she has girls her age to play with."
Robert suggested, "Oops. I didn't know Mathew and Marcus would show up as girls. I set out blue Easter baskets for them. I'll go grab two more pink baskets from the shed so they can start hunting for eggs."
Debbie giggled, "You can leave one of the blue baskets out. Willie might want to use it."
Robert was confused, "It's been a long time since I've heard you refer to your 18 year old son...who is a senior in high school as...Willie. You only called him that when he was...."
Just then, a much younger version of William jumped out of the SUV with a cell phone in his hands announcing, 'I'm way too old to hunt for Easter Eggs Mom."
Debbie rustled his hair snickering, 'Oh come on. You are stuck as an 8 year old until this evening. You may as well join the other kids. You always had a blast hunting for eggs when you were really this age."
William waved his cell phone around complaining, "Service here sucks. I can't even send a text to my girlfriend."
Robert greeted his nephew, "That's the downfall about living at such a secluded lake house." He jokingly picked up William to greet him with a hug.
William was taken off guard. He was normally 6'5 and weighed 250 pounds. It had been years since anybody could pick him up so easily. He sarcastically laughed at his Uncle, "Ha ha! Very funny. Put me down please!"
Robert set his nephew on his feet asking, "How's the family star basketball player doing? Have you gotten any scholarships to colleges next year?"
Before he could answer, Lucas and John came running up. They obviously recognized their cousin in his younger form. They always loved when William visited so they could play basketball and have some great competition. Lucas threw the ball at William taunting his current height, "Hey short stuff....Let's shoot some hoops! You gotta show me that famous slam dunk of yours." John joined in making fun of William's regressed age, "It's going to be a breeze to block your jump shots now!"
William crossed his arms looking up at his much taller boy cousins, "Yea right. I'm not going to embarrass myself playing against you like this. We will have to wait until this evening when I can use the medallion again to get an equal sized body."
Jessica anticipated that her sons would taunt William. She ran into the house and came out carrying a box and pulled out two outfits, "There's no need to wait until William can get taller. These are clothes I saved from when you were both 8 years old. You should get shorter and join him so it's a fair game."
Lucas and John both nodded. They were sports fanatics and wanted to start playing. John grabbed the medallion and touched it with the clothing in his mom's hands. He started shrinking and moments later was his 8 year old version. He was drowning in his teenager clothes and used the SUV door to hide his modesty while changing into the items his mother brought out for his regressed size. He ran off with Willie to start playing basketball now that they were the same age.
Lucas went next. He was eager to level the playing field and start playing basketball too. He touched the medallion with his 8 year old clothes and felt his body tingle. Just like his brother, he began to shrink and lose muscle mass. The changes happened fast. He ended up about the same size as the other boys. He noticed something was seriously wrong when his mother started snickering at his appearance. He pushed long blonde out of his eyes that was dangling down over his face. He desperately grabbed at his crotch coming up empty handed. He examined his skinny arms and saw his fingernails were painted pink. He recognized a familiar birthmark on his wrist. It was the exact same one his older sister Katrina had. He groaned knowing the clothing turned him into his sister's 8 year old version. He crossed his arms glaring up at his mother. Speaking with Katrina's high voice when she was this age, Lucas complained, "What the hell Mom?"
Jessica laughed, "Sorry sweetie. I must have mixed up the clothes. I assumed this light red shirt and yellow shorts were some of your old boy clothes."
Lucas hadn't examined or unfolded the stack of clothing his mother brought before he touched it with the medallion. He looked closer and rolled his eyes, "That's not a light red shirt. That's PINK." He unfolded it to reveal it was a tank top with ruffled edges on the neckline and sleeves. Butterflies were all over the front and written in glittery letters across the middle read GIRLZ RULE. Next, he unfolded the yellow shorts and held them up, "Seriously Mom? These aren't even shorts. This is a skirt!"
Jessica held back her laughter pointing out, "They are kind of like shorts. It's actually a skort. It's a skirt with built in spandex shorts underneath. They are designed so girls your age can play in a skirt and run around without having to worry about showing their panties...." Just then, a pair of folded up princess panties fell out from the skort and landed on the ground. Jessica giggled, "That's convenient. I was smart years ago when I packed away your sister's old clothes."
Just like John did when he changed clothing, Lucas hid behind the SUV door to hide his modesty. He stepped out of the teenage clothing that he was drowning in and pulled the pink glittery tank top over his head. He stepped into the princess panties and pulled the skort up. Once fully dressed, he asked his mother, "So...you're saying I can jump and run around wearing this girly thing?"
Jessica nodded, "Of course you can."
Lucas smiled, 'Cool. That means I can still play basketball. Can you put my hair up into a ponytail for me so it doesn't get in the way?"
Jessica nodded and got to work giving Lucas a pony. She pointed out, "You know that girls tend to grow faster than boys at this age. Even though you, John and Willie are all 8 years old now...you ended up the tallest. I think you have an inch or two on them now."
Lucas was thrilled Katrina's body gave him a height advantage on the basketball court, "Perfect! I can't wait to see their faces when they get beat by a girl." Lucas started running off bare foot to join the boys warming up shooting hoops.
Jessica reminded, 'Not so fast young lady! You need some shoes if you're going to have any chance of holding your own out there." Lucas ran back as his mother dug through the box of old clothes, "I know I kept a few pair of Katrina's shoes...aha! Here we go!" She held up a pair of shiny silver strappy sandals saying, "Try these on."
Lucas shook his head, "I can't play basketball in those Mom. Look for some of Katrina's old sneakers."
Jennifer held up a pair of black Mary Janes asking, "Will these work?"
Lucas laughed, "No way. I need something with better ankle support."
Jessica set the Mary Janes aside saying, "I'll keep these out for you later. You can wear them to dinner. Luckily all of your sister's fancy dresses are still hanging in the back of her closet from every important event she ever went to. There's an adorable yellow Easter dress of hers you can borrow for dinner tonight." Jessica held up a pair of white tights saying, "Perfect. I'll set these aside for you to wear later too."
Lucas shook his head knowing everybody was required to wear something nice to Easter dinner. There was no way he'd get away with wearing the leisure tank and skort and had on now. Jessica pulled out a pair of pink sneakers with a Cinderella logo on the side exclaiming, "Here we go! This is exactly what you were looking for right?"
Lucas slid his feet into the pink sneakers laughing, "It's not the color I would have preferred...but these fit great and will work well for basketball. Thanks for helping me get dressed Mom!" Lucas ran off to join the boys on the court.
