“It’s not that…” Alyson replied, “There’s no need to call him…because he’s not home.”
Jalen was confused, “How would you know? You’ve been downtown shopping all day and have no idea where your step-brother is.”
“Yes I do!” Alyson answered, “Umm….I was just at home dropping off all my shopping bags and he wasn’t there.”
Jalen nodded, “That explains your outfit change. When I ran into you earlier, you had on a different skirt and top.”
Alyson agreed, “Yea. You know us girls. We are always changing clothes. Anyways…Ryan told me to tell you….that he wouldn’t be home until 730. You can meet him at our house then.”
“That’s strange. Since when do you and Ryan even talk? I thought you two hated each other? Why didn’t he just text me?”
Alyson replied, ‘Maybe his phone isn’t working or something. I don’t know why he told me to tell you to wait until 730 to come over. Can we please stop talking about my stupid step-brother?”
“Hold on. How did Ryan even know I’d run into you today? Why would he go out on a whim and give you that information on the slight chance we’d even see each other? And why didn’t you tell me this the first time I saw you today? Hmm? That doesn’t seem like something your step-brother would do.”
Alyson desperately wanted to change the subject. Fortunately, by now they’d made their way into Jalen’s apartment. Alyson knew the fastest way to get a man’s attention was to strip down and jump on top.
