You exited Professor Xavier’s study with directions on your hand. The wheelchair bound professor was okay, and you get the feeling that everyone in the school liked him a lot. Some of the students and teachers even called him Professor X. You could see why. The guy must have loved X’s. There are numerous trinkets and things shaped after the 24th alphabet. Take the Prof’s wheelchair for example.
Turning your attention to the piece of paper on your fingers, you read it closely and went towards the foyer and up through the huge staircase to the second floor, and into the west wing, where most of the dorms were concentrated.
Like the first floor, the second floor was richly paneled with smooth, dark wood which you guessed might be mahogany, along with some beautiful paintings, sculptures, and vases. You could feel some stares from the student body as you passed. Some of them were even pointing and whispering with each other. It seemed that rumors spread fast in this mansion. Some of the students gave you a wide berth while the others seemed to be more interested with you. But none of them made the move to approach you.
Sighing, you turned into another corridor and quickly found your room, which is right on the end of the corridor. You inserted the key into the door and it opened with a creak. Surprisingly, the room was clean, without any indication that it had been inhabited for a long time. You shrugged and pulled your suitcase in, closing the door with your magnetic powers.
You flopped on the bed, with your legs dangling over the edge of the mattress and just laid there for a minute. You thought on what will happen to you now that you’re living with other mutants. You sighed and went into a sitting position when the door opened.
