[Author's Note: Well, I haven't written in a while, and I've come to several ideas... One of them was particularly persistent, a plot I discarded long ago, having Blake and Co. in a fantasy world, middle-age styled, though I might combine Japanese and European middle age... just another crazy idea... Well, let's see if I can make this work. Blake´s story will retain its essence (I hope so) but will have more changes than you expect... Btw, I know, I kinda wasn't sure about how to begin with the story, and it might be the consequence of not writing for who-knows-how long...]
A different time, in another world... where what we know as fantasy is reality...
It was an ordinary day in Kildevar*, for most of people, they carried on their daily business, and did whatever they were used to do every day, most of children helped their parents with their work, merchants kept selling, buying, exchanging and advertising their products, and so on. A brown haired man was sitting at what seemed to be his house, reading some work papers, when the door was suddenly opened, and a guy came in...
It was a tall guy, wearing black gloves, a black shirt, and dark gray pants, as well as brown leather boots. He also had a black hooded cloak, which shadowed the guy's face, and carried an abnormally broad sword on his back. However, the man didn't seem to be bothered by his presence, and interrupted his work to speak to him
-"So... What did you forget?"-
-"The mission is done already..."- Said the guy
-"Really?"- The man asked
-"It wasn't that difficult... The robbers didn't get too far. Everything has been returned..."-
-"Whoah, that's good... so, I guess you've come for your payment..."-
-"Of course"-
-"Alright then"- The man took out a small bag with several gold coins in it, and handed it to the guy, who took it and walked out of there. One of the maids who was sweeping the floor stopped for a while, and asked to the man
-"Uhm... I don't mean to be disrespectful, my lord, but is it really necessary to have hired a mercenary squad just for a minor rob?"-
-"Of course not..."- The man replied calmly, and the maid gasped
-"Then... why did you hire them, my lord?"- She asked, confused, the man sighed, and said
-"For the same reason I've been hiring them for the last two years..."- Then he added -"They would be wandering around with no place to be... As long as I give them some money, they will stay... And here, they're safe... Specially the guy you just saw... It's better for him to stay here... And you can't say they aren't useful, they haven't failed any mission... and the money I spend on them is the money other dukes use to live the great life themselves... at least I'm helping someone who actually needs it..."-
-"I see..."-
-"Why... it's a long story, but let's just say that I'm paying a debt to a friend of mine..."- He said, and the maid resumed cleaning the place (Which by the way, was just a house larger than average, not enough to be a mansion or a palace)
Back to the guy...
He walked into a modest inn, and encountered with four guys, also in their teens. He said
-"Well, here's our reward for today's work. I've already taken my part, you guys do whatever you like with yours"- He handed them the bag and started to walk away, one of the guys, a short one, said
-"Hey Blake, why don't you stay here?"-
-"I have things to do... But don't worry, have your fun..."- He said as he walked away
-"Man, sometimes I wonder what does Blake do when he's by himself"- A red haired guy asked
-"I dunno... Maybe he has some girl..."- A black guy suggested
-"It's not that. Blake is a lone wolf, and I can tell you that he's truly by himself..."- A guy with black curly hair said
-"But he rarely celebrates anything..."- Another guy with black hair and tanned skin added.
-"Let him be"- The guy with curly hair said, and the four of them went to get something to eat...
Meanwhile, Blake was walking, wandering around the village, wondering about many things... When he snapped himself out of his thoughts when he heard suspicious noise, and walked toward where it came from. He found a man laying on the floor, with some wounds caused by a knife, Blake asked
-"What happened?"-
-"Someone attacked me out of nowhere and took away my money..."-
-"Alright"- Blake said, and jumped to a house's roof. He quickly noticed a man dressed in brown and white, who was running, towards the village's outskirts. He started jumping from roof to roof until he caught up with the thief. Then, he muttered something, and aimed his hand toward the thief, and ropes made of light were fired from his fingers, and entangled themselves around the thief's arms and legs, immobilizing him. Blake then jumped down and took the bags he was carrying (3 or 4), and went back to where he found the man who was robbed.
He was still on the floor, bleeding. Blake walked near him and crouched, aimed his left hand toward him and said
-"Shine, sun's gentle glow, 10 days of spring, heal, stop the bleeding, close the wounds with nature's touch..."-
His hand started to glow in pale golden light, and the man was healed, and stopped bleeding. He said
-"That was incredible!! Thank you very much sir!!"- Blake handed him the bags, and he answered -"The thief only took away one bag from me... I guess you should keep them. Besides, you healed me!!"-
-"No, you keep it. You seem to be a hard working man with family, they need the money more than I do. I'm just fine"- Blake said and walked away, disappearing as quietly as he appeared. The man wondered for a while who was that guy, why did he get no money from him and how could he heal him so easily...
Blake kept walking, thoughtful, as the day continued. When the sun started to set, he went to a large, old tree, jumped on one of its thick branches, and quietly fell asleep...
*DON'T ask how did I come to that name... okay, I wasn't able to think of a really proper name, and I didn't want to be too cliché and use japanese, so I searched some name generators, and I didn't like none of those names, and ended up checking foreign words, and came up with "Kilde" and "Var", both of them are norwegian for spring... Aghhh!! Don't judge me!!
On a second note, I guess you weren't expecting none of this, huh? This version of Blake seems to be more prepared for confronting the world... maybe... there are things that not even him would believe... BTW, I leave the last two choices for anyone, I'll be using the first one
