Jane threw on a thick fur robe and headed out of her room and down the stairs into the tavern proper. As she passed through, she scanned the room for sign of her informant from last night, but didn't see him. She wasn't that disappointed though, she figured he'd be gone by now, but if she could have found him, she might have been able to grill him for more knowledge. She made her way out the door, not wanting to draw any attention from a bar room filled with men.
As she stepped out the door and onto the city's cobblestone streets, she felt a rush of excitement tingle down her spine when the chill of the cold, winter air hit her face. It wasn't snowing at the moment, but it had recently, and it was a rare moment for this town to not be covered in the stuff. Yet despite the harsh climate, Greatmanor was one of the largest cities Jane had ever seen, and the bigger the population, the better a chance that somebody would know something about the tale of the Lipomancer...
She looked up and down the street, trying to decide where she should start. She could always try to get somebody to talk, but if a person knew information about a hoard of immense wealth, chances were that they wouldn't be giving up such information so easily. In any other town, the vicious rogue could likely use intimidation to get what she wanted, but that wouldn't work too well here. She began to walk down the road as she thought about what she would do. Most of the population of Greatmanor was either made up of gruff, strong, burly men and women with long blond hair, or equally large and intimidating lupines, the indigenous white furred animal people who would likely tear your throat out if you even looked at them funny. Yes, trying to get information would be difficult... But as difficult as going into a town blind? For all she knew, it could be a trap.
She stopped in her tracks as a little shop to her left caught her eye. The sign read "Marcus's Exotic Imports", nothing too out of the ordinary, but it would be a good place to start. If anybody was likely to trade with the town of Silverhorne, it'd likely be this guy.
