What happens when the males of the game Fire Emblem experience size differences?
This choice: Alan  •  Go Back...
Chapter #4

A Long Day

by: Banana Boat Author IconMail Icon
It was a normal day for the cavalier Alan. Lance had been jousting with him during most of the morning [although Alan beat him at most times since he was older and more experienced]. Marcus had come and watched and even cheered the boys on a little, saying that no bandit would be able to overcome and make fools of the pairing. After the short practice Roy and Lugh had called him and several other melee fighters to a meeting based on strategy in the battlefield. Lugh had even shown a demonstration where he enchanted an ordinary sword by blasting it several times with fire and then Excalibur (the weapon of course was given to Lord Roy for use in upcoming battles.)

So it wasn't until nearly nighttime when something strange occurred. Well not strange, more like rather unusual, which in reality is only a little bit less than strange.

Alan had been approached by Ray who offered him a "glimpse into the future" which Alan's mind had told him that it was just another one of Ray's tricks to gather more attention for him and away from his current competitor, Lugh. Still Alan accepted, as the day had been boring than most and he was eager for something new and refreshing. Even local bandits and the enemy seemed to have called off their troops.

Sighing he sat down next to the young shaman and gave him a "go ahead" which sent Ray into smiles. "Yes yes..." the shaman began by casting what looked like a dark and magical blob of air floating in front of the two. "I can tap into the mystic power of the moon!" Ray turned and threw in a "ohhh" for added affect but had to stop when laughing took over. "I'm just joking. Nothing scary about seeing into the future."

The humor was short-lived however, when a wind began to pick up. To Alan it seemed cold and strangely bitter for this time of year. To Ray it seemed natural and suspicious. The wind carried some of Ray's "magical" cloud of dust towards Alan and the dust stung his eyes.

"You know what? I think I'm going to turn in for the night." Alan stood up and looked down at Ray. "You coming?"

"Ya ya." Was the annoyed reply. "Can't get anything done in this weather."

The two headed into the large and abandoned castle the group had chosen for their place of staying for the next few days.

Alan headed towards the chamber selected by Roy for himself. Being one of the original to accompany the young Lord did have it's advantages when it came to sleeping chambers and who was the first to be given a new weapon (although of of the stuff actually went to Marcus).

Removing just the major parts of his armor, Alan flopped down on the cold bed and drifted off to sleep. It had been a weary day and he wanted as much rest as possible before the sun came up again.

You have the following choices:

1. During the night . . . Alan shrinks

2. The next day . . .

*Noteb*
3. During the night . . . Alan starts growing

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
