Chapter #4

Memories...

    by: Conix Author IconMail Icon
Julianne hadn't really thought about how she was going to get a meal here, it was a bit crowded, but she was sure that an opportunity would come if she waited for it. Well, that's why she went for a drink first. She walked casually toward where she saw people gathering around what appeared to be a long snack table, in the center was some sort of red punch and under to the table on the floor was a cooler full of beer. Julianne opted for the punch, she didn't want any chance of being tempted to get drunk, that might not end so well if she gets the urge to eat the first person she sees.

She pours out a cup, and is a bit startled as she hears her name, she turns around abruptly, and sees a couple, 'They don't seem familiar, ' Julianne says to herself as she looks them over, one guy who was kneeling down to grab a beer, while simultaneously holding the girl's hand.

"Julianne?" the woman goes on, "Don't you remember me?" She pauses briefly as Julianne scans her over, "We were lab partners in biology?"

Julianne still couldn't remember the girl, there was nothing striking about her features, she just had black hair and nothing exotic rang about her, but one look at her presumed boyfriend, and Julianne was certain she would have remembered him if she had seen him before. Nonetheless, she faked remembering her, "Oh yeah, I remember now, what was your name," she pauses, " That was ages ago!"

Smiling now, the girl responded, "Cassandra, but you always called me Cassy."

Julianne legitimately remembered now, it was 3 years ago, before she had even started studying vore, they had actually been pretty good friends before. Julianne had hardly thought about this, since she began studying vore, everything before had seemed useless, her relationships, her parents, school, everything. "Yeah, Wow," Julianne mock held her head, her hand pushing up onto her forehead. "We had some good times didn't we?" She could remember countless parties like this one rush back into her memory.

"Yeah we did!" Cassy said as she gripped her presumed boyfriend's arm to her side. Cassy's disposition was certainly off-putting, Julianne had come here to eat random people she didn't know, not to chat up random old friends, but part of her really wanted to.

Julianne casually continued, "So who've you got here?" She once again looked down Cassy's male companion, while taking another drink of the punch, the taste was a bit off, it might actually have had some alcohol in it, though not enough for it to effect many normal people, let alone Julianne.

"Oh, you don't recognize my boyfriend Daniel? This is his party!" Cassy responded, finally taking the Daniel in question away from his beer and causing him to give Julianne a glance.

In between drinks he simply said, "Yeah, I specifically told Bruce not to let anyone in unless he knew em."

Julianne instantly remembered the drunk guy at the door, "Yeah, well one of my friends has ways of persuasion,"

Cassy tugged at Daniel's hand, he responded again, "I guess any friend of Cassy's is a friend of mine." He then went to forcing a smile.

Cassy definitely had this guy whipped around her finger, and Julianne figured she didn't want to eat an old friend, despite the fact she probably couldn't get away with eating either the the host or hostess without someone figuring out that something was amiss. Conflicted she stood there gulping down the punch in contemplation.

Daniel paused from his drink again, "Well don't limit yourself to my free drinks!" He chuckled before Cassy shot him a glance.

"Well, it was nice seeing you again, but we're going to go say mingle with a few more people, you can come if you want, you might remember these people too." She said motioning Daniel to follow her.

Well despite his good looks it seems Daniel was a complete jerk, typical of some rich college snob, he probably would still make a tasty meal though, Julianne just had to figure out when and where, definitely not here. Though, she might find someone more accessible elsewhere than within the pantheon of the host and hostess's friends. Or she could go and find one of her TA friends, to see if they had any more luck.
