Shannon knew she wasn't going to get anything done by just sitting there. Besides, she had taken inventory and cleaned her gun enough times to make her physically sick. Today would be the day she got out of this godforsaken city, even if she had to kill every last one of these animals with her bare hands. She made sure she had everything with her and left her safe haven to venture out into the unknown. Things went smoothly until she got downstairs were a weak level one zombie was staggering about. It didn't really surprise her that one of the bastards had managed to get in considering she hadn't been able to seal the now broken glass doors. With one round from her handgun she dropped it and proceeded outside. The fresh air and gentle breeze was nice, but Shannon wasn't here to enjoy a clear sunny day. She had two objectives: Get out of the city. Kill all sons of bitches who tried to stop her. She walked past the parking lot and out onto the road. After a fews minutes of thinking she decided to head away from the city and take her chances in the forest.
She had barely gotten half a mile away from the radio tower before she started hearing the moans echoing through the trees. Shannon knew the sound all too well... it was the call of a Siren, a female zombie that wandered aimlessly and could alert others. "Damn!" She cursed quietly as she got off the road and took cover behind a tree. She couldn't see any movement, but knew the bitch had to be close judging by how loud she sounded. After waiting a few minutes for the Siren to appear Shannon noticed the noise steadily grow softer. "Its going deeper into the forest, probably away from the road too..." She got back to the road and looked both ways. No zombies in sight, not even a level one. "Should I keep going?" Shannon thought to her self as she listened to the sounds coming from deeper in the forest. The Siren was getting farther and farther away by the minute. She could probably chase it down and kill it... if she didn't mind the good chance she had of getting lost. Of course, she wasn't so far along the road that she couldn't just turn around and go the other way...
