This choice: Melina, the 19-year old sister. • Go Back... NOTE: From now on, this story will be written from the POV of Melina Burton. The nineteen year old girl is a part-time waitress at a local restaurant and, besides Jack Burton, Melina is the eldest sibling of the family. She has a boyfriend named George and, despite being kind to Jessica, is very spiteful towards Eddy, and shares as uncomfortable relationship with her parents.
Your break from reality was broken by a loud slam from below. In a fit of rage, you immediately turned off your stereo and stormed down the stairs to the source of the door slam. Angry, you screamed furiously without rational thought. "Whoever did that," you screamed, "Keep it down! I'm trying to relax!" Suddenly your attention was drawn away from the perpetrator of the loud slam of the door. Your eyes focused on an unusual packet of sweets, ripped only slightly, lying upon the small table besides the front door.
Out of curiosity, you approached the table and scooped up the packet. Ignoring the present instructions upon the bag itself, you stretched your fingers into the bag and took out a drop, coated in bright gold. Upon brief inspection, you realized that this golden drop could be worth millions! As you held the drop in front of your glaring eyes, you licked your lips with excitement. You then noticed an inscription upon the drop. The inscription was tiny, but you managed to make it out.
"Congratulations. Because of your last wish, you have won a golden Rainbow Drop. But be warned. Consumption of this rare candy will not grant your wish, but will reshape reality itself in ways to fit your current mindset. It will be highly unlikely that such an offer will return for another significant amount of time, so be cautious of your mindset before consumption. Please enjoy your prize."
Never have you ever encountered anything closely resembling this discovery. You analyzed the packet further, realizing that this candy had the power to actually grant wishes! Pondering on it further, you concluded that it was your brother, Eddy, of whom you constantly feuded with since his conception, who must have made a wish, allowing this mysterious golden drop to arrive as a prize.
It was a curious discovery, but with the outrageous nature that you've maintained for many years, you couldn't resist giving them a try, and what better way to start than altering reality itself!
You looked forward to changing the face of the world, but you misunderstood the concept that the world will change "in ways to fit your current mindset." Perhaps it meant that your current emotions would alter the outcome of the transformation. Perhaps it meant that if you swallowed the candy feeling happy, then the reshaped reality would become a positive. If you felt that you could be queen, then perhaps you could end up as the queen!
The offer was tempting and irresistible. To you, it felt as if you had no choice but to alter reality. All you had to do was drop the piece of rare candy in your mouth and swallow, then everything that you knew would be changed, or so it says in the inscription of the golden drop. You anticipated the forthcoming changes, if any. What better time than the present to try it out?
As you sucked the flavor from the golden drop, slightly disgusted by the foul taste, you anticipated the alteration of reality. But how was reality changed?   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
