Chapter #3

You're an inventor with family.

... a stocky bolding father of two kids, Jeff and Sam.

Your son Jeff is 16 and plays for the high school foot ball team.

Your daughter Sam (short for Samantha) is Jeff's twin sister. She is a chearleader and also an A+ student.

Your wife Ami is a 34-year old slim business woman.

That day, you're busy working in your workshop on your newest invention: the holographic projector. With it, you can scan in objects and persons and project the scanned images as hologram - at least that's the plan!

"Finally... this should work!" you mumble and pick up the small device. It closely resembles an iPod - that is because you used the case of one for it.
You walk over to a video cam you put there for making recordings and turn it on.

"Vidlog 23. Finally, I think I've made a breakthrough! Let's see..." you say and walk in front of the camera.

There, you point that thing onto a nearby potted plant and press some button.

For some seconds, there's a flashing "SCANNING" on the screen. Finally, it turns into a "SCAN COMPLETED". Right then, you point that device into thin air and push a button.

Suddenly, a continous stream of energy escapes from the device. In front of you, an exact copy of the plant fades into existence. "OH YES!" you shout and crawl down on the floor, putting the device behind you on the floor... Just then, the plant turns transparent. "Huh?" you say and go a little closer to examine it.

That's when another burst of energy emerges from the device! Suddenly, a tingly feeling rushes over your body. The whole world seems to change, until that feeling passes away. "What was that?" you try to ask - only no sound escapes your mouth. You try to move, but to no avail! 'WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME?'.

Some minutes later, you're still somewhat numb. Right then, you feel the same feeling as before running over your body, and the world changes again.

"Huh?" you say, finally able to speak and move again. Quickly, you run over to the camera and upload the video onto a nearby computer. You forward the video, finally you see the scene where you're down on the floor, examining the plant. Suddenly, a ray of blue energy hits you. You see your body morph... INTO the potted plant!

On this sudden revelation, you're awestruck. "Wow... this means my invention is not a holographic projector, it's a transmogrifier! But well, it needs some more work!".

Some days later, you've improved your original design. Now, you can select the shape to change into. Also after some experiments you discovered that certain amounts of energy transform you for a limited time.

The first thing you do with the transmogrifier is to scan yourself - just so that you're original shape is available somewhere. Now, you go upstairs in the living room. Your wife Ami and the kids are all out. Looking out of the window, you see one of the neighbor's kids, a teen girl, passing on the pavement. Quickly, you aim with the transmogrifier - and scan her! "Hehe... now I can turn myself into the neighbors' girl!" you say, but inside you're not satisfied with the choice of available bodies: yourself, a potted plant, the girl and a tennis ball and a vase you used in testing.

You have the following choices:

1. Look around the house for new shapes.

2. Change into one of the shapes.

3. Something else.
