This choice: He forget about it and stays where he is • Go Back...Chapter #5Good Chance for Shadow to think things over. by: Lelouch The black hedgehog briefly looked over his options; climb Amy's gigantic boot or climb her couch then her. Either way it was going to be extremely risky, possibly even more so than any of Shadow's previous battles. The slightest movement, a wiggle of the foot, a sneeze, even just shuffling around slightly could easily end up with Shadow getting crushed under what was possibly the weight of an entire city. Shadow grunted in annoyance as he let himself fall to the floor, eyes closed as he thought intently.
He overlooked the possible outcomes of each option, obviously the positive one was getting found and returning to normal, the negatives however were far worse than that. There was a chance Amy would sit on him, a chance Shadow would fall into her boot, a chance she would actually keep him as a pet of some sorts and maybe even torture him! In this bleak situation his two choices had pretty much one positive and roughly thirty negatives. Odds didn't bother Shadow at all though, if anything he worked best when he had little to no chance of success but he was no fool. Although size would beg to differ Amy was not a mountain, she was a living creature and like all living creatures she would move and do things. Shadow would probably take a couple hours at the least to climb her and in that time she would almost certainly go eat, move, go to the bathroom, something that would most likely kill Shadow should he be climbing at that moment.
Using this logic Shadow for once in his life chose not to act, despite how much he personally disliked it. There were too many risks, not to mention too many unanswered mysteries. How did he shrink and more importantly how did he end up in Amy Rose's house of all places? He was halfway around the globe before he fell asleep!
Shadow thought over what he was doing before he fell asleep, investigating a mysterious anomaly that was possibly linked to disappearances. Minorly uncertain Shadow took another look at the massive treads of Amy's boot, if the disappearances were linked to all this then how many people met their end underneath that rubber? How many people died with nothing but the image of the beautiful pink hedgehog going about her day as the last thing they saw? It was almost enough to make Shadow sick.
Still, he didn't have time to wallow in possibilities like that. He needed to think, think of how he had shrunken, how he could get someones attention, how he could do so safely. It was all frustrating. The mysterious anomaly....if it was connected to Eggman as Omega suggested it would help explain why Shadow was with Amy; the Doctor would probably look at it as lovely irony.
The idea made the hedgehog's fist shake in anger, "If he did this to me he is a dead man.." After a few moments Shadow took a deep breath and calmed down, getting fired up would not help him in the least. He racked his brain, thinking over so many possible things he could do; but none of them were safer or even as effective as Shadow's main two ideas. Again Shadow looked at Amy's unrealistically large boots, noticing all the dirt and grime he had never before seen on her shoe at his normal size. Almost transfixed, Shadow stared at the boot, thoughts slowing to a crawl.
"Focus!" He yelled to himself in minor frustration, trying to bring his mind back on topic. Again he racked his brain, still coming up with nothing. Shadow thought long and hard, and before he even realized it he was asleep.
The dream was clear, vivid, as were most of Shadow's nightmares; the pleasant ones were usually blurry. However this seemed more pleasant than a nightmare, it was almost like a slideshow; various memories of Shadow together with his friends Rouge and Omega. Doing their jobs, fighting, helping one another, the typical things Team Dark did. It was all nice, until it came to the final bit, not memories but horrific scenes of both Rouge and Omega dead. Rouge literally was a splat of blood with sprinkles of white fur, and Omega was wires stuck against a large rubber surface.
Like a jab from a knife it hit him, "Rouge! Omega!" the concern came out in a loud shout of dismay as Shadow awoke and leapt into the air. If he was shrunken then chances were his comrades were too, which also held a possibility that they too were somewhere inside Amy's home. Somewhere inside the unaware hedgehog's nausiating home.
Shadow didn't have to think for a moment about what needed to be done, his friends could be in trouble and that was all that mattered. Still he had no idea how much time had passed, Amy's boots no longer occupied most of Shadow's vision and he couldn't detect any traces of her nearby. It was still light out from beneath Amy's couch so it was at the least still daytime.
Mentally Shadow pictured the house's structure, thankfully it had only one floor so Shadow wouldn't have to worry about a struggle with stairs. Two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, and two bedrooms; each a fair size. At Shadow's possibly millimeter height however each room would likely take at least a couple hours to investigate, each. And that is if only is they had solid flat floors, assuming that each room had the jungle of carpetting Shadow had to navigate through to get where he was he could very well spend eight hours per room.
The thought wasn't exactly a morale booster, already Shadow felt his mission was looking futile. He could easily spend the next week looking through Amy's home, but if he were to go with his original plan and get the giantess's attention then things could go far faster. Putting some thought into it Shadow...... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
