During the many centuries of Gem interaction with the planet of Earth, one aspect of it had, for years, been buried as a secret that few knew of save for those who experienced it first hand. It was discovered purely by accident, but the truth of the matter was that a Gem could ingest a human with little effort, swallowing them whole into their bodies made of light. It would become known as a great delicacy to the space-faring race, and was one more reason they mourned the loss of Earth as a colony world after the rebellion had seemingly left it unusable.
Even the Crystal Gems, who had fought for the planet still fell prey to the irresistible taste of humans, and even into the modern day they would indulge in this act with those who were willing. The same could be said of Homeworld, who had taken their own measures to make sure that at least a select few could continue to enjoy the practice.
Steven Universe would soon come to know of this practice as well, though from which perspective remains to be seen. The only question is where does he learn of it?
