Chapter #4

You just go home

    by: Norman33 Author IconMail Icon
You decide to just go home and seek some comfort from your wife. She took the week off from her job and should be home. You're not sure how much comfort she'll be though. You're not exactly the loving couple you were when you got married. That's not to say that you don't love each other. It's just that after only being married a couple of years, you discovered that Carrie was unable to have children. After that, you both sort of just focused on your careers.

That was 20 years ago and neither of you have made much time for each other in a long time. You go to work and in the past few years you've become physically active. You work out and compete in triathlons. Carrie has always been physically active and does aerobics five days a week. Physically she's in good shape, but she has a body that resembles a teenage boy. She lacks any of the curves that are generally associated with being female.

You pull into the driveway, and take a deep breath before exiting the car and heading into the house. You walk in and find the living room empty. Carrie's car is in the driveway, so you figure she's in the home gym working out or something. You throw your jacket over the back of your favorite chair and then spot a drink already poured, sitting on the bar. Carrie must have poured it and then walked off for something.

"Well, I need it more than she does", you murmur to yourself, hoping to god she made it strong. You pick up the glass and gulp it down. You can't really taste any alcohol, but it does have a strange bite to it. You set the glass down and settle into your chair hoping that if it did have alcohol it that it will kick in soon.

A few minutes later Carrie walks in. You only glance over long enough to see it's her. "Mark, you're home early. Is something wrong?" she asks.

You don't know what to say so you sit there in silence. Losing your job is a big deal for you. It defined who you are. She then sees her empty glass and asks, "You didn't drink my drink I had sitting on the bar did you?"

Her question has a tone that you believe is that of annoyance. "I'm sorry honey, I really needed a drink. I'll make you another one," you respond.

She lets out a huff and says, "Well I guess this is yours then". She then tosses a red teddy on to your lap. It's clearly made for woman that have a lot more curves than you wife. You sit there confused, looking at it, wondering what she means. She quickly explains, "I went to the body shop today. I was going to suprise you for your birthday with a new body. Get the type of body you always wanted me to have. One that looked like a woman and that could give you a child."

You're a little shocked. You never said that you found her unattractive for one, though in past few years you've never said you found her attractive either. You also forgot that your birthday was tomorrow. Another thing is that she doesn't look any different. You look her up and down and ask, "So, what happened?"

She puts her hands to her hips and answers, "My husband came home and drank my new body juice before I could, is what happened!"

You feel your heart come up your throat. You look over at the empty glass and then at the red teddy still in your lap as you put everything together. "Oh shit," you shout as it dawns on you.

You have the following choices:

1. The change happens quick

2. The change is slow
