and you catch up to the two surviving creatures. You had not realized until now that they have some sort of strange fur on their heads. You aren't very familiar with fur, and don't know what purpose it serves. They have different colored fur, you see. One has black fur, the other has more golden fur. Now that you think about it, the first one you ate also had golden fur, and the second one had red fur.
The two creatures are swimming powerfully, moving quickly through the water. For all their speed, you gain the impression that they aren't naturally water-dwellers, but rather land creatures that spend some of their time in the water. You, however, spend all your time in the water, and are well equipped with a tail and strong fins.
You easily overtake the further of the two creatures. You notice they swim with oddly divided fins, two near the front of their bodies, the other two at the back. The back two move in a way you can understand, but they make some strange movements with the front pair. These fins, by the way, are part of the reason you are convinced these creatures aren't naturally water-dwellers.
No matter. You bite the rear fins off the further of the two creatures, swallow, then turn to face the further one, the one with the black fur. It is looking at you, head out of the water, making some sort of strange sound. You don't know if this sound is meant to be any sort of defense, but it has no effect on you. Rearing up, you open your mouth. Bringing your mouth down over the body of the creature you have selected, you bite down. You severe the protuberances at the end of this creature's rear fins. Those fall to the water as you swallow.
Then you turn to the final creature. It is also making a similar noise to the last one. It has stopped swimming and is looking back at its rear fins where you bit them off. You come in a rush, swallowing the rest of it.
Now that all four of these creatures are finished, you briefly investigate the floating thing in the water, making sure there is no food left. There is none.
Satisfied, you swim away.
It does not take long to realize that you are still very hungry.
