Chapter #4Female by: Moe Jenny Weasley woke up slowly on the morning of her thirteenth birthday by the loud rumble of thunder which could be heard from the distance.
“Man… what a way to wake up…” she groaned, as she stumbled out of bed. she groggily looked at her digital clock, which indicated that it was only 4:55 AM in the morning. “I’d better unplug my computer!”
She moved his mouse over the mouse mat so that the screen came on, and she tapped on the keyboard, curiously looking to see if there were any new emails for her, before she would shut down the laptop and unplug it from the wall, due to the oncoming thunderstorm, which was so common in the state of Alabama during the hot summer months.
“Ahh… birthday wishes… more birthday… what’s this? ‘Greetings from the Greek Gods?’” Jenny thought, as she was quietly reading the email subjects. The last subject sounded interesting, as she clicked on the title.
“Dear Jenni Weasley, Greetings on your thirteenth birthday. Today, you will discover your great strength and your true origin will be revealed. You’ll learn that you’re one of us. Have a Happy Birthday! Signed, Hercules, your real father.”
Jenni gasped out loud. “Is this some kind of a joke?”
BOOM!
“I’d better unplug my laptop!” Henry said, as panic set in. Flashes of light lit up the dark sky outside, and she could see the flashes through the window.
Jenni quickly shut down his laptop and unplugged the cable from the power. She did it just in time, as there was another loud rumble of thunder when the power went out for two seconds, before coming back on.
“Me? The son of Hercules? That has got to be some sort of a joke!” Jenni murmured to herself, as she quietly walked to the bathroom. She was only 5 foot 4 inches tall with short, light brown hair and brown eyes. She was skinny as a board and she only played a little tennis in middle school. She was just starting the seventh grade and she was certainly no athlete. She was very average in everything she did and she often got bullied since she wasn’t very big, tall, or popular.
She did her business before going back to bed.She knew that his mom loved him, even though she had been adopted as a baby. She had no idea who his real father was. She had told him that his father had died in Iraq. But, there was no way his father was a Greek God. Or, was there?
She woke up again that morning. It was a school day and she hated it. She flexed her biceps but felt nothing different. Jenni said ' well, it must be just a dream. She got dressed and ate her breakfast.
While she waited for the school bus, FATE had plans for her to discover her strength. It happens indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
