It didn't take long for the pair to reach their destination as Sakura could pretty much clear any gap in a matter of seconds. The old building itself stood slightly taller than her and was of course to small for her to even attempt to enter. Because of this she'd have to wait outside by one of the windows like always.
"This is my stop. See soon billboard brow." Ino teased before leaping off her rival's shoulders and onto the roof. The pinkette ignored blonde's attempt to get a rise out of her and 'hmphed' before walking to the side of the building and taking a seat next to an open window.
Her arrival of course drew the attention of her fellow classmates and a few of them waved while others were content to just ignore her. She didn't really care too much about that as she did the boy in blue. Sasuke Uchiha was his name, and he was the boy who was currently the object of her affections. Seeing him made her blush and she wished she could just shrink down and sit right next to him instead of that annoying blonde in the orange umpsuit.
Naruto Uzumaki, the class clown and boy who didn't know when to quit. For the last four years Naruto had been obsessed with her. He would always ask her out on dates or try and fail to woo her with his 'amazing' ninja skills. As if she was interested in him. He was dead last in class and did nothing but pull pranks.
She turned her attention away from the blushing blonde and back towards her crush, "Good morning Sasuke."
He didn't respond back, but acknowledged her greeting with a simple glance. He wasn't very expressive around most people.
"Back off forehead, Sasuke's mine." Ino cut in as she entered the room.
"I was here first." Sakura argued.
"We got here at the same time, remember." Ino reminded.
Before the two could go at it even more all of the Sasuke fangirls seemed to come out of the woodwork. Table after table emptied as more and more girls threw in their claim to Sasuke. The raven-haired boy did his best to tune them all out as he had no interest in any of them. He just wanted to be left alone.
While everyone continued to bicker, the class's resident prankster felt insulted being completely glossed over for the number one student. He took up a position on Sasuke's desk and crouched down to glare at the guy. A glare he reciprocated in kind.
This got the attention of all the girl's present and Sakura herself. "Naruto, stop staring at Sasuke like that!"
He turned towards her with hurt expression, almost like that of a kicked puppy. He quickly shook off that expression however and returned to his glaring match. With each passing second the crowed grew angrier and the two opponents drew closer.
Then something... unexpected happened.
Something that drew the ire of every rookie kunoichi present. Naruto wound up taking all the blame and all the pain of the fangirls. Sakura couldn't do anything from her position, so she was forced to watch as Naruto got pummeled.
After that though, things settled down. Iruka-sensei arrived to assign everyone their genin teams. Much to the pink-haired giantess's joy she was paired with Sasuke, The look on Ino's face was priceless. Then that joy dampened when she also found out she'd be paired with Naruto. Oh yay.
Iruka then announced everyone had an hour to go get lunch and then return to the academy to meet their jonin instructors. "Class dismissed." he said before taking his leave.
Everyone vanished so quick the classroom was like a ghost town. As everyone filed out Sakura found no trace of Sasuke. She waited for a bit but it looked like he avoided everyone all together. She was all alone.
She then stood up. "We're could he have gone? I figured since we're on the same team maybe we could eat lunch together and get to know each other."
"Hey Sakura." A familiar voice called from below. Looking down she could see the small form of Naruto waving to her. Internally she sighed. "Since we're in the same group and all I figured we can get lunch and get to know each other better."
