The hours passed slowly as you stared through the glass, unable to move and your throat soar from screaming. Your wrists and ankles were throbbing from trying to break the wire ties, holding you firmly to the doll mount. The hours of silence was maddening, you had no idea that Hayley had returned home. Nor were you aware that she and mom were witches as well and that mom had sensed the use of magic and confronted Hannah. Seeing her walk into the room, you did not notice the urgency on her face as she quickly closed the door and moved to where she had left you imprisoned. Inside Hannah's mind, she remembered the conversation she had with mom and Hayley...
"I know you used magic recently, young lady." said mom, sternly. "Every witch has a distinct magic energy signature, its like a finger print." she paused, looking Hannah in the eye. "Where is your brother?"
"He's safe." replied Hannah, defiance in her voice. "I'm not going to let you two use 'nasty magic' on him."
Mom sighed, realizing Hannah had overheard her on the telephone with Hayley hours before. "I used the term 'nasty magic' to describe what Hayley and I must do to help John gain a resistance to the effects of magic." she explained. "The more magic is used against a witch boy, the harder it will be to effect him with it later on."
"There is a balance in witch families, Hannah." added Hayley. "The girls are blessed with great magical power while the boys are blessed with great physical power. Only girls have to develop that power, as do the boys."
"Girls, although they have magic, must build a resistance to it as well." said mom. "A little 'nasty magic' will be used on everyone, not just John." she then eyed Hannah. "Where is he?"
Hannah sighed. "He's in my room." she said, her voice small now. "I made him look like my Jenny doll."
Hayley sighed as mom shook her head. "How long ago?" she asked.
Hannah blinked. "About four hours." she replied. "I was going to feed him...."
"I'd say a little less than four hours." said Hayley to mom's nod.
Mom then produced a doll outfit, suitable for a teen boy. "You are to march into your room and have John wear these, it will reverse the spell." she said sternly. "I'd do it quickly, if I were you."
"Why?" asked Hannah, fearful.
"You are too young to work any permanent spells." replied Hayley, sternly as well. "Also, your magical power is weak, at best which means John will be changing back on his own any minute now."
"If that happens, I doubt he will be very happy with you." added mom, giving Hannah the doll outfit. "If you change him back before he changes on his own, he might be more forgiving."
Hearing that, Hannah was off like a shot...
Returning her mind to the present, she took the small glass case off the shelf and removed the glass dome before quickly freeing you from your bonds. "I'm sorry, John." she said, quickly. "I'll explain everything later." "When I can think of an explanation."
You only glared at Hannah as she then handed you the doll outfit mom gave you. "Please don't be too mad." begged Hannah, tearing up. "Put these clothes on, they will return you to normal."
You looked at the clothes, not knowing if you could trust her then...
