Upon opening the book, Hayley was immediately aware of a power within and instinctively used her magic to shield herself in case of a trap. Fortunately, there was no trap, just some of your energy radiating from it. Hayley began to flip through the pages and found that it was indeed practically identical to her magic book, with a few minor exceptions.
"Everything in this book is explained in scientific terminology." thought Hayley, reading a page on advanced chemistry. "This page talks about basic potion making only here, they are called serums." she flipped the page. "This page gives a basic introduction to spells only here, they are called 'events'."
Hayley closed the book, with the intention of reading more later, and took it upstairs with her luggage, to her bedroom. There, she sat down onto the bed and began to read more.
'Chaotic Science is made up of hundreds of scientific disciplines that had been deemed forbidden due to their dangerously unstable nature. However, certain individuals of specific blood lines have a power that is unique to all others. this power allows them to take full advantage of these forbidden sciences and become a chaotic scientist.....'
"The book must be referring to the dormant magic power within all witch boys." thought Hayley. "That would explain how John was able to produce a flame test." she then became more worried. "But tapping into that power would surely awaken it and make John a girl, and a witch."
She flipped through the pages and continued to read....
'...Once you have mastered fining your center, you may move on to creating the sleep walking effect, covered in the previous chapter. Once this has been established, a flame will appear in your left hand, your power has been established and will take root in a matter of days...'
Hayley became even more concerned. "A sleep walking effect?" she shook her head. "No doubt that sleep walking power has already taken root." she paused. "But, judging from his reaction, he knew nothing about magic and discovering it really freaked him out."
She scanned through a few more pages, then knotted her jaws in decision. "If I can get John interested in magi, maybe I can get him to willingly give it a try.... Maybe my teacher, Lucy, can help out." she swallowed hard. "If I don't do this and something happens to him, playing with that science..." she choked down a fearful sob then grabbed her cell phone and dialed a number. Two rings later, someone answered. and Hayley tearfully said,..."
