Deciding that someone had to break the ice, you pulled Hayley into a warm hug, surprising her. "Something incredible happened to me after you disappeared, Hayley." you whispered, releasing her. "Want to see?"
Hayley nodded and you pulled her into the living room where she saw the magic book you were looking at. You laughed, seeing her worried expression. "No that book belongs to someone else." you said. "This is what I wanted to show you."
You let out a heavy breath onto one corner of the coffee table and your book of chaotic science rose once more and you picked it up to show her. "Uncle Jack had developed a science so advanced its like magic, he passed it onto me on my twelfth birthday." you said. you then produced your pyrokinetic flame. "Uncle Jack told me not to tell anyone, especially not mom, but I've decided the time is right to reveal my secret."
If it could, Hayley's jaw would have dropped to the floor as her eyes bugged out. She was happy that you had a power of your own but there were factors involved you did not realize and doubted Jack understood. One was a magical link between you and Mel that would transform the magically weaker twin to create a balance. It was known as the twin factor.
"John, could you come with me, please?" she asked.
You canceled your flame, curious. "Where to?" you asked.
