This choice: Same characters, new beginning. • Go Back...Chapter #2Same characters, new beginning. by: Saracen1187 Following his encounter with the strange old man, whom he had assisted on the way to work, Steven found himself 'blessed' with a most extraordinary ability. The old man, who didn't have very long to live, passed onto Steven...the power to switch people's bodies or body parts (their physical traits). He could also morph people's bodies into any shape or form, his own included, and he was told by the elderly man that he could now also possess other people's bodies.
"Shit, I can't believe this! I wonder...I hope he was telling the truth" Steven mumbled to himself as he walked in through the store's back entrance, where Liz and Aaron were unloading the stock off the truck with the driver.
"Evening Steven!" Aaron said in his usual droll manner.
"Alright Aaron!" Steven responded. Then he turned to Liz, the woman who never failed to excite him. "Hey Liz, you okay?" he inquired with a smile, eliciting a gentle nod from Liz. "Yes thank you" she answered. "Good good!" Steven nodded, walking into the store and looking around. Several of his co-workers, 17-year old Rebekah, 19-year old Becca and 25-year old Natalie had already started work, filling the shelves. He greeted each one in turn, then made his way upstairs like he did every night.
At the top of the stairs, he bumped into Andrea, the woman he felt he could confide in the most. A 'large' woman, Andrea was nonetheless pretty and very outgoing, very perky for a 50-year old. "Heya flowerpot, how are you?" she said with a big smile on her face.
"Fine thank you Andrea, hope you are too" Steven said, hugging his friend.
"I'm fine!" Andrea chuckled, "see you downstairs in a minute okay" she added. "You sure will" Steven responded, before signing himself into work and heading into the men's toilets to take off his coat and his Israeli baseball cap. Once ready for work, Steven just looked into the mirror and studied his reflection, the one he had been self-conscious about all his life. He didn't view himself as handsome at all, barely average looking in fact. He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and sighed, every single word the old man had said to him was echoing in his head, and he wondered...just how he was going to use his new powers, if they worked at all.
"Better try something 'small' to start off with" he mused, as he walked out of the toilets and headed to the door to head downstairs. Before he got there, he saw Yvonne coming out of the womens' toilets. Steven at once assumed (correctly) that she was taking a sly drink of a bottle of spirits before work. Everyone in the store knew she had a drinking problem, due to her life at home, being a mother of two kids and going through a divorce.
"Hi Yvonne, you coping luv?" Steven asked her, getting just a nod and a little smile in reply. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
