Kelly smiled for the first time in so long, a genuine smile that made it self-known thou out her entire body.
Getting up, she move over to her photo wall. Each photo was special and precious to her now, each a memory of a time long since passed. Her smiling daughter playing in the park near their once happy home, her little angel unwrapping charismas presents or dressed up in a poorly made Halloween costume.
Kelly’s eyes fell on the most recent edition to her collection. It was her daughter graduating high school. Kelly had been forbidden to go but she went any way just to see her. Her father the bastard had her dragged away and locked up for two weeks for violating the restoration order but it was worth it.
Now she thought of her power and touched her mirror. It was a small thing, she had come to hate mirrors as they showed her down fall, but this one was needed for her to get ready for work.
Her power now warped the mirror into a decent size and as the mirror grew it morphed to show her daughter.
…………………………………
Emily was sitting in a lecture hall surrounded by other college freshmen. She wore a skirt and blows combo that extenuated her slim figure and curves, her hair was clipped behind her ear by a hair clip. Her eyes shone with the excitement of whatever the teacher was saying.
It was then that Kelly realized she had no sound but that dint mater her daughter wasn’t talking.
Kelly’s phone beeped as her reminder to go to work went off. With a sigh she made the mirror float and follow her across the room so she could call in sick… “Hell,” she thought “might as well quit” as her eyes fell on the suit case.
Her boss answered on the second ring and was disappointed in Kelly, thinking that she was slipping further into her depression, despite the new life in her voice witch she put up to the thrill of quitting a job that she only held because of sympathy and pity.
“No… don’t worry about me I’ve already lined up a new job… yes it’s all approved… I know I could have given you some warning” Kelly never took her eyes from her daughter as she spook to her x- boss “no thank you… I know I wasn’t the best person theses last couple of years and I am thankful to you for putting up with my… AR… obsessions… yes the treatments are going well… alright…good bye”
Kelly hung up. She hadn’t really lied to her X boss, she had the perfect job in mind and as for her treatments well her phycologist was a moron and wouldn’t be seeing her again.
She canceled those law ordered appointments with her power. Then got ready for her new job.
