Alison slammed her door hard and threw herself onto her bed, tears streaming down her cheeks. It wasn't fair. It just wasn't fair!
Alison was seven years old, and had been attending elementary school for two years. Three years ago, her father had died, leaving her mother to raise her and her older brother Craig alone. His death had a severe effect on all the family, but Craig took it the hardest. He eventually ended up taking out his frustrations on Alison, tormenting her at any oppurtunity. Once, he pelted her with water balloons for no apparent reason. Another time he deliberately spilled ink over one of her new dresses.
Today, though, was especially bad. He had stepped on her newest doll and broke it in half. He claimed it was an accident in front of their mother, but she knew from his smirk it was intentional. He was always weaseling out of things like that.
Alison sniffed as she felt a new wave of tears come on. Why did he have to be so mean? And why to her? It just wasn't fair...
Those were Alison's last thoughts as she cried herself to sleep. In her dreams, she found herself in a white void, wandering aimlessly. As she walked, she noticed a tall man appear in front of her. He was dressed in a dark coat and hat, and she couldn't make out his face.
"Alison Diver." he stated. "I know about everything you have been going through. I know how badly your current situation is. As such, I have decided to give you a gift. When you awake, you will have the power to manipulate reality. Use this gift as you see fit..." and with that, the man vanished.
Alison woke up at that, the man's words still in her head. She looked around, wondering if it was true. She decided to test her power on...
