a wrong pattern is used to rematerialize somedody

Chief O'Brian is at the transporter controls working frantically to beam up the away team. A massive power surge has just hit the ship and scrambled the read out on the controls. O'Brian notices that the something has changed in the pattern buffer according to the read out. He only hopes that it's wrong. It's to late now to worry about it. The team has already been dematerialized off the planet below. They can't be held in the buffer much longer with the storm going on. As a precaution the Chief call for medical. O'Brian prepares himself for the worse. He's seen the results of a transporter malfunction before. The only blessing is that they usually do not live long. Medical arrives and O'Brian completes the transport. He holds his breath as the away team begins to rematerialize. What appears is not what he expects.
